Can he pass for Dick Tidrow?
Two bad nights in a row for the Yankees bullpen. Torres gets the Yanks back in the game, and then idiot Boone brings in the shortest Yankees pitcher in history to give up a homer right off the bat. Why does he have to be cute with these relievers? And what did he mean when he says "he liked the lane there"? So many of his decisions are mindboggling.
I don't like Stanton pinch hitting, almost ever. 4 for 43 in his career. Under .100. Got his thinking, but maybe Trevino there to put the ball on play.
Yankees pitchers seems to forget that opponent's bottom of the order need to be handled. Tough night for Schmidt.
Why is Grisham on this team? Zero value.
And what the hell is wrong with Soto? No hits and 2 Ks tonight. Just kidding.
Need to right the ship before the upcoming tough 10 game western road trip.

Surprised no one is taking about the best Yankee pitcher ( besides section 10) and who wasn't even going to be a starter until Cole went down.
Gil in 7.1 IP gave up 1 hits while striking out 8.
He's now 6-1 with a 2.11 ERA, when Cole comes back, you gotta demote Clark to the pen.
They better not even think of putting this kid into the pen.

All five of the Yankee starters are pitching really well. Good problem to have for sure. Things might look different though by the time Cole is ready.
Way to get the win and split the series. Should gave taken 3 of 4. But good to win on getaway day before a long western road trip.
Keep the bats going. They're going to need them here on this road trip. I expect the starters to hit some bumps in the road.

Even Boone in the pregame said it's too early to worry about that. Cole is not near to being ready, and something could happen to one of the current starters.
