Yankees 2024 Season

So the Yankees lose 2 out of 3 to the third worst team in baseball coming out of the all star break, despite getting 6 innings of 2 hit baseball from Cole. Season over at this point which may be a good thing - time to clean house with the staff/admin which should have been done after last season.

How in the world did they blow this game? 3-1 lead, 6-5

lose 2 of 3 to the worst team. Nothing is going to change, Boone and cash just received extensionw

Another bad loss. 2 big baserunning mistakes. Can anyone on this team play or coach fundamental baseball? Pitching decisions aside (and Boone is especially bad at it), Ramirez has to get a lefty out. That's all he is asked to do. Again, Boone has all the sound bites, but not one answer. Wait until the schedule gets tough. Oh boy.

The Yankees are awful at developing prospects. We have SWB loaded with 4A players. I think they should jettison any player over 28. If they haven’t reached the bigs yet … goodbye. This would allow them from lower levels to promote prospects to find out if they are really prospects.

game 95
went to sleep in scoreless top of 5th.
yanks sticks are tough to watch.
get ohtani now. he is better than the entire yanks offense.

Yanks struck out 17 times last night! Stanton(3), Volpe(4),Cabrera(3) leading the way and Rizzo and Bader(2 each). Against 5 pitchers with an ERA collectively about 5.00! Casey impact?
Let's be real - a mid-season hitting coach change isn't going to have a big impact on major league hitters. The issue is with the roster building, and overarching organizational philosophy on hitting. The Yankees analytic crew went full launch angle in terms of hitting philosophy, and that is from the minors on up. They didn't care about strikeouts, as they viewed an out as simply an out. By design, they made themselves one trick ponies in terms of offense - home run or bust. They acquired players at the major league level who fit this philosophy. It should have been apparent four or more years ago that they needed to change, as each time in the playoffs they faced top echelon pitching, their offensive output disappeared. But, Cashman is clueless, and kept the train rolling. Baghdad Boone will gloss over the bad and spew nonsense about sunshine and rainbows. What the organization needs is to be blown up and get some fresh minds and accountability in the front office and clubhouse. Because, aside from Hicks, no one has been held accountable for this mess, and it starts with Brian "Steinbrenner" Cashman.

What about DJ? He won his batting titles with an inside out swing like the former DJ!He doesn’t fit mold you mention yet he has lost that ability as well. Don’t disagree with most of your hypothesis , only thing I would add is they acquire players who have already passed their prime like DJ, Donaldson. And also do NOT ever develop players!

Ohtani is on pace for 396 strikeouts.

Of course, that’s both pitching and hitting.

Who is this Russo you speak of? ;) :):ROFLMAO:

Wash. Rinse. Repeat. What an awful team. 17 strikeouts, another runner picked off, shoddy pitching decisions. Boone actually said if first was open, he would have walked Ohtani, putting the winning run up at the plate. So why not walk him anyway if that's your thinking. And, BTW, could King maybe bury a couple of pitches in the dirt to get Ohtani to chase? Vaunted bullpen hire Ramirez failed again. Literally watched the game on DVR in 10 minutes. What waste of time this team is.
