Yanks struck out 17 times last night! Stanton(3), Volpe(4),Cabrera(3) leading the way and Rizzo and Bader(2 each). Against 5 pitchers with an ERA collectively about 5.00! Casey impact?game 95
went to sleep in scoreless top of 5th.
yanks sticks are tough to watch.
get ohtani now. he is better than the entire yanks offense.
Let's be real - a mid-season hitting coach change isn't going to have a big impact on major league hitters. The issue is with the roster building, and overarching organizational philosophy on hitting. The Yankees analytic crew went full launch angle in terms of hitting philosophy, and that is from the minors on up. They didn't care about strikeouts, as they viewed an out as simply an out. By design, they made themselves one trick ponies in terms of offense - home run or bust. They acquired players at the major league level who fit this philosophy. It should have been apparent four or more years ago that they needed to change, as each time in the playoffs they faced top echelon pitching, their offensive output disappeared. But, Cashman is clueless, and kept the train rolling. Baghdad Boone will gloss over the bad and spew nonsense about sunshine and rainbows. What the organization needs is to be blown up and get some fresh minds and accountability in the front office and clubhouse. Because, aside from Hicks, no one has been held accountable for this mess, and it starts with Brian "Steinbrenner" Cashman.Yanks struck out 17 times last night! What about DJ? He won his batting titles with an inside out swing like the former DJ!He doesn’t fit mold you mention yet he has lost that ability as well. Don’t disagree with most of your hypothesis , only thing I would add is they acquire players who have already passed their prime like DJ, Donaldson. And also do NOT ever develop players!Let's be real - a mid-season hitting coach change isn't going to have a big impact on major league hitters.
