Very few remember the Yankees outscoring the Pitates 55-27 in the 1960 WS but many remember the Mazeroski HR in game 7. It’s how many, not how much.Second, yes, the Mets won two games, but they also got blasted in several
Nothing against Judge but why feel sorry for him not winning a WS when he has been a bust in the post season? I’d feel sorry for him if he was having big post seasons and the rest of the team let him down.Mr. October, Mr. November, Mr. May; Judge will be Mr. Regular Season. I feel bad for Judge who deserves to win. I hope this is not another Mattingly story.
I parsed this post replying above but agree 109% with your view on the WFAN take. No way in the world to know what would have been, none. And the games played in-season mean nothing when it comes to the postseason.I heard Boomer and Gio (Met fans) on WFAN this morning saying if the Mets somehow got by the Dodgers, they would beat the Yankees, the way the Yankees are playing.
First, they didn't beat the Dodgers, and it is an impossible hypothetical, who knows what would happen, no one.
Second, yes, the Mets won two games, but they also got blasted in several games.
Third, beating the Yankees in the inter league games is not the same as beating them in a WS.
The Yankees have a chance to do what the Red Sox did to them, the WS is not over. Do I think it will happen, honestly, NO. Can it happen?, Yes, and I am rooting for it.
Because he is a stand-up guy. No Judge, no postseason. He not only has to battle pitchers when he hits, but he has to deal with extremely poor umpires. Let's do away with umpires and automate the calls.Nothing against Judge but why feel sorry for him not winning a WS when he has been a bust in the post season? I’d feel sorry for him if he was having big post seasons and the rest of the team let him down.
I certainly agree with that.No Judge, no postseason.
