Yankees 2024 Season

Well guess it's all over tomorrow, no biggie.
.
We still gotta wake up and go to work, while they got their millons.
In the off season they live the good life.

Looking forward to Coll bball next week.

Like I've said, it's always about the hitting, not the pitching, when it comes to the playoffs and the Yankees. Schmidt did not help with the early homer, and all the walks. No length from him. 7 walks by Yankees pitching tonight

What the f*ck was Rojas doing sending The Statue from 2nd when he is barely on 3rd when the left fielder has the ball? He should be gone after this year, with his performance this entire season coaching 3rd. Absolutely horrible, with Rizzo up next. It's a joke the way The Statue runs the bases.

I predicted Buehler would shut down the Yankees, although that doesn't seem to be too hard these days. Unfortunately so.

Amazing how many holes and easy outs there are in this lineup! 11 more strikeouts for thus pitiful cast of characters.

As always, no answers from Boone.

Said earlier this was looking like a sweep. Looks like that will be the case.

There were a couple of things that the Yankees needed last night - get out to a lead, and have Schmidt pitch with confidence. Neither happened last night. The Yankees have been kept off balance by the Dodger pitchers, and with the exception of Stanton, Soto and Torres have largely not shown up in this series. Judge is entering Dave Winfield 1981 territory - can you imagine if the old man was still alive and vibrant? The bottom line is that the Dodgers are better than the Yankees in every way. All the Yankees can do tonight is focus on one - one pitch, one at bat, one out, one inning at a time and try to eke out a win. Then, if successful, repeat the process. A lot of pressure on Luis Gil tonight to find the command that he has been lacking for over a month. Let's see what these guys are made of.

Mr. October, Mr. November, Mr. May; Judge will be Mr. Regular Season. I feel bad for Judge who deserves to win. I hope this is not another Mattingly story.

I heard Boomer and Gio (Met fans) on WFAN this morning saying if the Mets somehow got by the Dodgers, they would beat the Yankees, the way the Yankees are playing.

First, they didn't beat the Dodgers, and it is an impossible hypothetical, who knows what would happen, no one.

Second, yes, the Mets won two games, but they also got blasted in several games.

Third, beating the Yankees in the inter league games is not the same as beating them in a WS.

The Yankees have a chance to do what the Red Sox did to them, the WS is not over. Do I think it will happen, honestly, NO. Can it happen?, Yes, and I am rooting for it.

This Yankee team has overachieved this season.
Too many holes in the roster. How many players on this team are lacking fundamentals. Judge has had a great season, but he looks tired, with a slow bat. I think Torres will be gone. Jazz should be in the outfield. Need a catcher to spell Wells. Take a good look at this pitching staff. We need a closer. Maybe a new manager will help.

Not to mention in 2004 ALCS, Yanks maul Boston 19-8 in game 3 going up 3-0. We all know the rest is history. Sooner or later another team has to blow a 3-0 lead. 🤬

Nothing against Judge but why feel sorry for him not winning a WS when he has been a bust in the post season? I’d feel sorry for him if he was having big post seasons and the rest of the team let him down.

I parsed this post replying above but agree 109% with your view on the WFAN take. No way in the world to know what would have been, none. And the games played in-season mean nothing when it comes to the postseason.

Because he is a stand-up guy. No Judge, no postseason. He not only has to battle pitchers when he hits, but he has to deal with extremely poor umpires. Let's do away with umpires and automate the calls.
This team is so poorly constructed, they are lucky to be in the postseason.

No Judge, no postseason.
I certainly agree with that.

We were doing Allright last year, until he crashed into the Dodger Stadium wall. You saw what happened after that.

The Dodgers are just good, too. Very deep lineup (they've won 3 game with Ohtani only getting 1 hit), and their pitchers have been hitting the corners with precision.

No patterns, too. They'll throw any pitch, in any count.

I also think that the long rest for both teams in between series got the Dodgers healthy, while we had been healthy, and got rusty.
