Yankees - 2019

Bob Ryan (sportswriter for the Boston Globe) on ESPN's Around the Horn said what the yankees have done in the face of the injuries they have suffered has never been done in the HISTORY of ANY SPORT and he got no argument from the other 4 talking heads on the show. Oh, and did I mention this is coming from a Boston homer?

Even though it was a none issue with Torres, why could Boone sit him for a few days?
Well Torres hurt it on a check swing, and is out of the game.

We have the division, can we rest him for a month to make sure he's good for the playoffs.
I'd sit him for a week, I wouldn't take any chances, what for?
Oh well, Boone makes the calls.

Injuries are part of the game, but this is ridiculous. Each day someone goes down.

Thank god for the modern day Columbus Clippers

Big Yankee fan since I was knee high to a grasshopper so I like all the wins but baseball is becoming a real joke. Guys I never heard of come up to bat against the Yanks and I think good they have a good chance to get this guy out in a big spot and then they put up his stats on the screen and he has 25 hr and 75 rbi. Every time I looked up a Yankee was hitting a home run tonight. 50 home runs vs the Orioles alone with still 4 to play against them. Twins the Twins are on pace to shatter the single season home run record-what is harmon Killebrew and Tony Oliva back? Every punch and Judy hitter can loft a lazy fly ball to the opposite field and it goes over the wall in the power alleys or even to straight away centerfield. In the past those were hit on rare occasion only by legitimate power hitters like a Piazza or Kingman. 5-6 home runs a game every night even if hit by Yankees is not my idea of good baseball. Home run or strikeout does not make for exciting baseball to me it like watching a pinball machine. hardly any stealing, hit and run or bunting. Chicks may dig the long ball but I ain't no chick and would prefer to see some situational hitting and the other aspects I already mentioned. Also enjoy a good pitchers duel in a 1-0 or 2-1 game where there is tension in every at bat. Forget comparing statistics anymore. Would hate to be a pitcher anymore. Well that's my rant and I have to admit I still watch. Hope Yanks can score 12 runs a game in an Astro series against good pitching because they will need to.

Right , where's the suicide squeeze play? Not anymore. Like with the nba, dunks and the 3-ball.

Football 400 yards passing per game and devalued running backs and defense (thought part of the lack of great defense is some of the rule changes to protect the players).

Only major sport that has improved over the years is hockey. Less play stoppages, more open ice and free flowing game.

Might have to change his name to Miguel Pipp.
Poor Miguel Andujar
As a Mets fan, I wouldn't mind taking him off your hands.

I wouldn't rule him out as a possibility for first base, next year. The futures of Voit and Bird are not set in stone, and Miggy was working out there, while trying to come back from his torn labrum.

If Didi leaves as a free agent, then Torres probably goes to short, and with DJ at second (thank God Cashman signed him to a 2 year deal - he'll be relatively cheap next year, at 12 million dollars), there might be an opening next year.

Yanks only hit 3 homers last night. Are their arms getting tired or their vision blurry?

Judge is looking bad at the plate, I won't kill him or anything, but only one multiple hit game in the last 15:
AB 60
R 9
H 11
HR 1
RBI 2
BB 9
SO 22
SB 0
AVG 183
OBP 300
SLG 283

Now I'm gonna say I know he can turn it around and hope he does, because we'll miss him.

Now I'll wait for the "we're 37 games over 500" "I'm ashamed to be a yankee fan" and yadda yadda yadda lol.
thats all but but it doesn't change the fact that he still looks bad.

The stats don't include tonight dont tonight in which he K's twice

Yet he’s batting 274 and his career average is 273.

But yes something isn’t right because of his lack of power more. And how I can’t remember the last time he truly pulled a HR.
