Yankees - 2018
Who woke up the Mets? As for Yanks pitching rotation Ken Singleton was on the FAN this morning and he said he thinks Boone set up the rotation to maximize Severino's appearances vs the Red Sux.
Starting Gray today means that he's the only one who dosen't go in the four game series at Fenway in two weeks, barring postponements.

Yankees play the rotation shuffle after tonight's rainout, pushing CC all the way back to Friday vs. KC. Severino, Tanaka, and Cessa go in Tampa, with Gray opening the series with KC on Thursday.

I'm sure that Boone will give a different reason, but this is being done to prevent Gray from going in the series at Fenway Park the first weekend of August.

Sure it prevents that. It also pits him vs a sub 500 team. And gives old man CC more rest. Smart move all around.

Just like saving Savy was also a good move.

if these guys dont improve their shit, they'll be playingin the one game playoff.

I'm starting not to care, it's all up to them.
Out of our hands, so screw it.

I'm saying it right now.
SANCHEZ FREAKING SUCKS ASS, TELL ME HOW WE MISSED HIM WHEN ON THE DL. WTF HAS HE DONE SINCE COMING BACK?
Oh well 6 out, Yanks aren't catching Boston.

See ya in September

Should have pinch hit Wade for Sanchez. batting under 190, and he's our best hitters???????
Then I guess all of our hitters suck if that's the case.
What a joke.

I didn't realize Stanton's avg is all the way up to 285 after going 4-4 tonight.
I was down on him a few weeks ago but props to him, atleast he's hitting the damn ball unlike others on the team.
12-13 in last 25, I guess we sizzled out.

Sanchez needs his lazy ass fined for his lack of even minimal hustle on 2 plays tonight that cost the Yanks the game tonight. First he doesn't hustle after a WP/PB and let's the runner score all the way from second and then in ninth down a run bases loaded 2 outs doesn't hustle to first as Rays tried for force at second but the runner was safe but fielder throws to first to nail Sanchez who was trotting to first. Teammates need to air this slacker out and this comes from someone who always defends him but tonight was absolutely inexcusable. If I'm Judge or Stanton I go to the other one and say let's tune this guy up! (Sorry but that's just how disgusted I am at two blatant lack of even a modicum of hustle plays that costs your team a game)!

Totally took his manager off the hook with that play, because that decision to sacrifice bunt with Didi is in the running for dumbest decision of the year. That served no purpose, other then to give a free out to a pitcher who wasn't throwing strikes, and took the bat out of our hottest hitter. Knew right then and there that we were not coming back.

“Just the lefty-lefty matchup there and knowing they would walk [Stanton],” Boone said. “What’s the trade-off? Do you like the bases loaded and one out with Hicks from the right side? We did, and we liked getting Alvarado (who fielded the bunt) off the mound in a fielding situation as well. If Didi doesn’t get it done there, they go to the righty for Stanton. It was a tough call, a close call, but one I felt like with the matchups, one we would take.”

Horrible decision......Stanton was 4-4.......Hicks had already struck out twice.........go with the hot bat.

Sanchez and Bird both very overrated. But I am an old school guy, so I am very bothered by all the Ks and too much emphasis on HRs. I don't care what anyone says, batting .185 with a few HRs is NOT baseball and not winning baseball at that. Too many holes in the lineup with all the max swing guys. And, they need more starting pitching. The bullpen is mildly overrated as well. Usually OK, but sometimes a mess. Sanchez's total lack of hustle and passion for the game is appalling. He's too young to go thru the motions. I hate "corporate" baseball.

Bird and Sanchez are not overrated. Bird can't stay healthy but he is a good hitter. His bat has been picking up lately. Sanchez I can't really explain. He has a "Cano" like demeanor but he is a tremendous hitter. Hopefully they have a good August and September to get some momentum going for the playoffs. Though Sanchez's game last night was absolutely inexcusable. Bullpen is the best in baseball up and down. Torres is back Wednesday and hopefully we go on a great run.

We will agree to disagree on Bird and Sanchez. They are probably the 4th best team in baseball. Need more starting pitching, and the offense to be more consistent and less prone to SOs and failing to hit with runners in scoring position. Would like to see less max swings and more situational hitting.

DH Sanchez if his concentration behind the plate does not improve? If issue is hustle, that’s in Boone’s lap to deal with imo.

The numbers say that the HR trumps everything. I'm not crazy about it, but I'm not an Ivy Leaguer with a mastery of Big Data and Analytics. It's not traditional baseball but power and OBP are probably the most important stats to a batter now. Those two numbers are what provides the most runs. This is exactly why Drury and Walker are on the team and not Torreyes. Sanchez before the injury was on pace for 40 HRs and 100+ RBI. He was also the leading guy for Catcher at the all star game before he went down. Not justifying anything, but this is Baseball now.

the yankee bullpen is the best in baseball.
boone's one relief pitcher/one inning each, has done the job.
a healthy bird is a star(starter). saw him a few times in spring training when he was healthy. dont give up on him.
the yanks mos for producing runs is doubles/home runs. look at runs scored not battg avg.
losing torres really hurts. they are 500 without him.
sanchez needs a checkup from the neck up. no one in baseball hotter than him in his first 6 months of baseball.
i went to the game last night. sanchez's attitude ruined my sleep. i'm going again on wednesday.
