Yankees - 2018

A pitcher asking for a particular catcher, IMO, is like needing a crutch. I thought Gray would have worked through his issues by now. As was pointed out, some pitchers are not built for Yankees Stadium. That is my fear with trading for another one. Unless you are certain the guy has the mental toughness, you are taking a risk.

Andy Pettitte had a personal catcher for a good part of his career. Let's be real. Sanchez isn't a good catcher. He's not exactly a strategist. Clearly he can't pitch in Yankees Stadium. The splits are alarming
Gleyber just took Price deep. He’s untouchable at this point.
If game 5 of the ALDS matched up Sonny Gray vs. David Price, that would be one long, long, night.

Romine hasn’t seemed to solve Gray’s inconsistency issues.

Well small samples size but this year his era to Romine is 4.60 while to Sanchez in 2 games it's 15.60

In the early innings of this game, I didn't know who was more embarrassing, Gray or Price?

However, by giving up a homer to Kyle Higashioka, I think Price just sealed the deal.

6 bombs tonight.
Sev says ty very much.
13-2 1.98 era 16 by the break? Every start he's getting a win.

Good shot at breaking the team home run record of 264 in a season set by the Mariners in 1997. Maybe even reach 300 home runs!

But I'd trade all that for a World Series Championship!

Pretty soon, more denials that the ball is juiced. Everything is flying out.

If Aaron's shot didn't bounce over the wall Didi scores easily and yanks win, tough break.
They had chances all night but I think were 0-12 with runners in scoring position, they deserved to lose.
Lastly, wtf not pinch hit for that bum Bird? He SUCKSSSSSSSS. Everytime i see him he looks horrible.
Still had Drury on the binch.
Alanta int walks Andujar to pitch to Bird, and K's him on 3 pitches, freaking bum.

Oh well back to 2nd/

In my book, a real annoying loss. So many decisions by Boone concerned me. I am always concerned about this sort of performance in a short series. I could see the Yanks getting swept here. German has to go at least 7 innings tonight.

Yeah, I agree. I haven't been critical of Boone, but some of his decisions do boggle the mind. And I think of all the sports, baseball is the one where a manager has the most impact on games because of the decisions he makes. And in this tight AL East race, if Boone's decisions cost the Yankees to lose even three to five games, it could mean a wild card spot.

Thought the exact same thing. Yanks have gotten there fair share of lucky bounces over the years, but Clark's ball bouncing out of the park will forever haunt me because of what transpired after.

When the heck are the Yankees going to stop trotting out Doomy Gray?????? Gives up 5 runs in first 2 innings to Toronto tonight. If Aaron Judge was a real team leader he would pummel him and put him out of commission. With all the pitchers that suffer injuries just our luck that this bum stays healthy. I rarely if ever get on a player to this extent but enough already. Makes AJ Burnett look like Cy freaking Young!
