Yankees - 2018

Bullshit stadium. Frazier hits a speaker hanging from thr roof and the ball gets caught for an out.
LOL.

Sanchez likely to DL I just read. We'll see how many of the people who complain about his shortcomings (or subpar year to date) like being without him for a few weeks.
Boone said Kyle Higashioka, the only available catcher on the 40-man roster, is likely to be the player called up to replace Sanchez.

Higashioka is hitting .191 with five home runs and 22 RBIs in 51 games this season for Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.

Diaz at AA is hitting 393 in 56ABs, rather him being up. I guess AAA beats AA everytime.
He should start once a week behind romine, just to rest him a day. Maybe the day before or after an off day, to have him well rested.

Looking forward to three game series with Sox this weekend. Between MLB, Fox and ESPN all three games televised here in NC, a rare treat!

Good for you!
We need a top starting pitcher - I trust our GM will make the right move for the right package of our players...Red Sox and Astros = tough to beat.
Go Yanks!
Go St. John’s!

Agree SS&G. Only Severino & CC have been reliable to date. What has also been disappointing is we haven't hit anywhere like I thought we would (other than home runs). No starter batting above .284 and team BA of only .249. I take the fact that we are underperforming from the plate and starting pitching and we still are virtually even with both Sox & Astros as an encouraging sign. Hoping we take tonight's game and Sunday with Severino on mound.

CC looking good through 6. Key is winning game 1. He is the kind of competitor you have to love.

Complete effort. Pitching, hitting, defensively. The kids were big, and I mean Torres, Andujar, Judge & Bird. CC outstanding. Keep it going tomorrow.

They won't if you subscribe to the old adage momentum is only as good as your next days starting pitching. We have Cloudy Gray (what A.J. Burnett not available) going vs. Chris Sale but hey you never know.

Yes, but that should be canceled out by Sunday night's Severino vs. Price matchup.

So far this year, the Yanks seem to always flame out on national broadcasts. Hope the trend doesn’t continue this weekend on FOX and ESPN.

OK. Someone give me a convincing reason why Sonny Gray is pitching again at Yankee Stadium. Girardi wasn’t renewed as Yankee Manager because Cashman wanted an analytics guy, like Boone. Well, the analytics clearly show that Sonny Gray cannot pitch his way out of a paper bag at Yankee Stadium. His stats at home are horrible.. ARGGGHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!

And w Tanaka doesn’t be pitch better at night - or is it better at day - the point is if you clearly pitch better away or at home or at night or during the day - go for it!
Maximize your chances for a W - similar to being a relief versus a starting pitcher imo
Let’s go Bombers
Let’s go Redmen!

You really don't want to mess up the rotation with that kind of stuff.

A few years back, when we had Bartolo Colon and Freddy Garcia both pitching well, someone came back from injury (I forget who) and Girardi decided that, since no one was worthy of being taken out, he would go to a six man rotation. That threw CC Sabathia way out of whack, and he was terrible for about a month or so.
I don't have any faith in Sonny Gray period. Just a bad deal.
Clearly Verlander was the man to get last year, but I can't kill Cashman for not doing that. Had he done so, I would have called for his resignation right there (and looked stupid in the end).

So disappointing last night
Gray is one good game and two bad ones - unreliable.
I trust Cashman - (as I do Mullin) - to eventually get it corrected.
I also
Like the patient approach and not jumping into a quick move for a starter who might be another Gray.
Plus trading some good prospects - in a smart trade - also helps clear the 40 man tie up - a good “problem” to have!

In Gray’s case, you have to. His ERA at home is 8.23. In 36 innings pitched at home, he’s given up 49 hits and 33 earned runs and eight home runs while striking out 25.

On the road, in 46.2 innings pitched, his ERA is 3.28, he’s given up 40 hits, 17 earned runs, two home runs and struck out 48.

If these analytics don’t speak volumes, I don’t know what does. And why this is, I don’t know. But it is.

Maybe Sanchez should have been catching him along. Was ridiculous, IMHO, to give in to this guy and have Romine be his catcher. He hasn’t yet earned that kind of influence over Boone.
