Xavier, Wed. Jan. 6, 9pm, FS1 & 570 AM

Last year's Xavier game between two very competitive teams at MSG only drew 6,600 to MSG. Last year's Butler game only drew 5,600 to CA, albeit during winter break. I'm not sure you could have predicted the rapid rise of this year's X and Butler teams but you can't question the fact that you've never met an alum of either of these programs. ;)

To be fair, 5,600 is a sellout at CA. The place was sold out for that one a week in advance.

Forgot they reduced the seating in the "renovations". PS Butler did only draw 7K to the Garden in 2014.

If I recall correctly, a sellout at Alumni Hall was announced as a crowd of 6,008

The renovations a few years back cut it down to 5,602.

16 point dogs.

That has to be a AH/CA record. Even when we played good teams there in the 70s and 80s, I can't imagine the spreads ever being that high (of course, we were usually very good at that time, too).

As an aside, any chance of us being so bad this year that Vegas eventually takes us off the board? Do they ever do that? If ever there were a year for that to happen, this is it.

Ha Ha, with us losing all year the only fun thing to do is bet us plus the points and hope we can keep it close. I remember maybe 10 years ago Temple football was considered not competitive and taken off the board. There were no lines on their games.

A loss at alumni hall in the 80 s was a rarity.

Patience, Those days will return....building is tough, but we have the coaches to make it happen!

"Question: What must St. John's do to remain competitive against Xavier; Answer: Become Villanova."

Good line. Hopefully, we'll be competitive in due time for the long haul.
