It’s too drastic a move for a college coach to take but SJU would be a better team if Anderson benched any player but Storr who took a three pointer with less than five seconds on the shot clock.
Hi All, my wife and I just tested positive for COVID. Let me know if you’re interested in purchasing two pretty good seats at face value for the Xavier game. The tickets are electronic and I can text them.

Hoping our Johnnies put on the kind of performance tomorrow night that makes you and your wife feel better!

Xavier is a terrible match up. A by product of the SJU pressure defense is allowing uncontested three point attempts. Xavier has too many good outside shooters which will nullify the press and that leaves the SJU half court offense as the basis for a win. Not very encouraging.

I think we’ll be able to score some points vs Xavier. Obviously they have a lot of offensive weapons that scare me. Nunge and Freemantle both spread the floor and they both draw attention inside. Boum has been arguably their best player and Jones is a do it all guy as well. Will Kunkel be Klunkel again in CA and be ice cold? Idk if we’ll win, but I bet you it will be more fun to watch than the other two duds
we’ve had.

If you’re in the game late vs a quality X team, winning at home is what tourney teams do. And if you’re not in the game at all, that will tell us a lot too.

Maybe Xavier's flight will be delayed and they show up at halftime...We always got a good 20 minutes in us...

There are no guaranteed wins left on the schedule.
However, regardless of the opponent, SJ has to win on their home court to have any chance for post season consideration.
Thus far the only player who has been consistent is Soriano. No one else has been a game in game out performer.
CMA has to be ready to make quicker adjustments during games. Especially in positions 1 through 3.
This coaching staff owns the makeup of this team and if they are reluctant to make critical changes and adjustments and are more worried about a player's "feeling" then a winning culture will never develop under the current administration.

Tough game. Xavier seems constructed to beat us on how we like to defend. Winning this game will take multiple guys playing at the top of their game. Hopefully we get out to a good start and have the CA crowd be a good 6th man.

When diving into Xavier's numbers the positives for us are:
1) They can be a bit turnover prone, especially when it comes to giving up steals.
2) Despite attempting very few 3s in general, they are 3rd in the entire country at 3Pt% making nearly 41% of them so far. This is a good thing for us because that is almost certainly going to regress and that regression could start here.
3) Their defensive philosophy is to aggressively run teams off the 3 point line, something we'd want teams to do to us.

The negatives are
1) They are an excellent rebounding team especially on the defensive end, could really limit Soriano's 2nd chance opportunities.
2) Their 3 point D is due for some positive regression as well.
3) They are 2nd in the country in A/FGM ratio meaning if we can't contain them 1 on 1 they'll find the open guys every time.

I don't think this is a terrible matchup for us. If their red hot 3 point shooting comes back down to earth a bit then there's no reason we don't win this one.
