Thoughts on this one…

Best we’ve looked all year.

-Dingle looks so confident when Jenkins is out of the game. They are just completely incompatible.

-Jenkins will foul out of every Big East game if he doesn’t change something majorly on defense. 0 FTs again on the other end.

-Taylor is the kind of kid you want to adopt and live with you as a coach. Selfless player.

-Alleyne is, at worst, the second best player on this team. We have to get him shots.

-Traore was great with his skill from the top of key…entry passes and shots. Scraping the ceiling of his limited talent. Can’t ask for more.

Ledlum needs to pass more. He can be a weapon there.

Offensive rebounding will be what makes this team dance if they do.

Marillac, I know you love exaggeration, but are you saying that Alleyne is possibly a better player for us than Joel? Seems a bit extreme, even for you.

Too greedy? I admit, I am very very greedy. Lets get a 2 game lead in the B.E on the defending champs.

We got this W, we aren't expected to win @ Hartford, so hopefully we play loose, just go out there and have fun.

If we do as Rick tells them to do, and the team executes, then there's a damn good chance we could steal the game in Hartford on Saturday night.

The 2 keys are : Have fun, and execute.

It comes down to how you want to quantify it. He’s by far our best defensive player and likely our best shooter. We ran one play for him tonight so we haven’t even seen the shooting aspect. Joel is fantastic too. Then I think there is fall off after those two until Luis comes back.
 
It's actually our third straight year that we won our Big East opener (it was DePaul at home each of the last two years. Xavier is not great, but it's still a very different feeling).

I want to buy in to what you’re saying SJUWillRockNYC. I would be much more amenable to your position if UConn didn’t just get blown out by Seton Hall. I agree , just play loose and follow Pitino’s game plan. I just think we’re walking into a buzz saw on Saturday. Hope I’m wrong!!
