@Xavier, Tue., Jan. 7 , 6:30p, FS-1

Can't see how we win this game. Our record at Xavier is abysmal.
We have been a bad team for a long time so I would imagine our record is bad on the road against most teams in the conference, particularly the newcomers after the football schools left.

Xavier is a very good team and one of the best shooting teams in the conference. We will need to play an excellent game.

I am more positive today so I definitely don’t think it’s impossible. Could very likely come down to another one of those last second shots.

I would like to be as optimistic as some of
our posters about improving our 3 point shooting but , I’m not so sure ..

We were 2-9 Vs Creighton and 1-23 against Butler ..
Can we continue to be that bad ? Logic would say no but , …

Pitino admits he and Staff erred in not getting more Shooters from the Portal . Seems like he’s doing some soul searching about his Recruiting strategy .

This game will most likely be close. The defense will keep us in it. Maybe the team will steal it. This is going to be the formula as long as the shooting continues to be this bad.

the football schools left?

Miller has had better teams, but always has guards and wings who can score. Freemantle being back is obviously a plus with his size, shooting and experience. Miller prepares & game plans well, so the chess match between he & RP should be fun. Go Johnnies!
They lost by 5 to yukon in Hartford, without Freemantle. We ain't winning this game.
P.S. this game went to O/T.

Hoping there’s some quasi positive effect of Freemantle being back that has X playing less 4 shooter type lineups and our speed can be more effective. But he’s a hell of a player and one of those guys who really seems to enjoy playing us. See Ochefu, Daniel 😬

Agree - there was no dropoff in the games he missed. They are a very good team with or without him.

As optimistic as I’m trying to be I think the game may be close if we don’t have our usual slow start but eventually it won’t be that close. Xavier’s desperation for a win combined with the Johnnys shooting woes and Millers game preparation will keep the Johnnys down. Last year we finished ahead of Xavier but they beat the team soundly at their place. Defense can only take u so far but eventually you have to make shots.

What? There’s 16 conference games left plus the BET…
I said this with severe jetlag. I meant bubble team heading into February.

At end of the day, our NCAA tourney chances will be determined by how we fare against UConn and Marquette, with a lesser extent against Creighton/Xavier/Villanova (?) + avoiding disaster against Seton Hall.

Very disappointing that we have to talk like this but its true. If we lose against X and still go on a 7 game winning streak, those are the only teams that have a chance at a tourney bid in the conference.

Xavier's top three of McKnight, Conwell, Freemantle is as good as our top three. They've got "swing" guys like Swain/Foster/Maddox that are capable of stepping up. I think they've underperformed big time compared to their talent.
I don’t think they have underperformed, I think that their early Big East schedule is responsible for their 1-3 record.

how can a Fan of a team (12-3 / 3-1) be so objectively negative? - not just you- i know... but the others that can't wait to come on here and chalk up an L

We have shot like literal sh*t the past 3 Conf games and have come away 2-1 with a 1pt loss.... We have shown the capability to Stay in ANY game regardless of shooting...

If we shoot 30% from 3 vs X, we probably win by 15 lol...
