Xavier (MSG), Wed., Jan. 22 , 7p, FS-1

Fun defensive stats from the Xavier game...(if my counting is correct from KenPom)...

Xavier scored on only 5 of 27 possessions from the 15 minute mark of the 2nd half until the 2 minute mark of OT.
St. John's went on a 35-13 run during this time. This included a run of 8 consecutive stops and a 2nd run of 7 consecutive stops. Xavier scored on back to back possessions only twice during that 18 minute period.

They play in Nassau County HS leagues for all sports.
Since who can resist a good geography argument, I can assure you all that the following is entirely accurate:

1. The village of Cold Spring Harbor is located in the Town of Huntington, Suffolk County.

2. Cold Spring Harbor Jr/Sr High School is also located in Suffolk County.

3. The Cold Spring Harbor School District consists of Lloyd Neck (Suffolk), Lloyd Harbor (Suffolk), Cold Spring Harbor (Suffolk) and Laurel Hollow (Nassau).

4. The two elementary schools feed into the Jr/Sr High School are Goosehill (or at least it used to be) and Lloyd Harbor School, both of which are physically located in Suffolk County.

5. Notwithstanding the fact that every aspect of the village and the schools is physically located in Suffolk County with the exception of Laurel Hollow being part of the school district, all CSH sports are in fact played in Nassau County leagues.

6. Wally Szcerbiak did in fact play for CSH.

Now about Xavier .... eh, they're in the rear-view mirror until the BET now.

Let me summarize the Xavier game.

Wally loves St Johns
Wally played in Nassau county
Wally played in Suffolk county
None of the big schools recruited Wally
Wally was upset last year when we failed to an invite

I’m sure this post is incomplete. Feel free to add to it.
Wally batted .520 in high school and went 18-1 as a pitcher. I believe that he pitched a no hitter.
