Xavier game

I don't want to harp on it, but when does a coach, any coach, take Dom to the side and tell him that he's not a point guard, you can't dribble, stay in the paint, play the glass, and pop out for the occassional 12-15 footer?

Having most athletic team in BE means zilch! This is not a decathlon. Oh well, only 46 days until the February "dangerous team" evolution. Sorry, just frustrated by our crazy lineups, absence of smart play & where we are thus far. Onward!

I'd be very careful about under estimating Xavier. They are very very good at home. This is the 14th season at the Cintas Center and their record in the building is 181-25 for an 88% winning percentage. The place holds over 10,000 fans and the game will be sold out. (there are less than 50 tickets left as of today) Even in a down year last year at 17-14, 9-7 A10 they beat Butler, Temple, LaSalle, Memphis and St.Louis.

They are a top 15 program nationally the last 15 years. Before last year, they won an incredible 5 straight A-10 regular season championships. The A-10 is no slouch...most years it is as good or better than the Pac12 or SEC, and the top half of that league can play with anyone. They have made 13 NCAA tournament appearances in the last 16 years. They have advanced in the tournament five times since 2007, four trips to the Sweet 16, and one of those trips ending in the Elite 8. The had another Elite 8 trip in 2004. They also sellout most home games.

All three new schools are very solid programs whether or not they are fielding their best teams in recent years. Solid programs are never easy to beat.

This will not be an easy game to win, and I am 60/40 thinking we won't win. While they may be picked for 7th in conference, their crowd will be very loud and wanting to come away with their first win in a big time conference. This is a winnable game, and the type of game to win if we expect to be near the top of the conference. We have to sweep most of the bottom rung teams if there are expectations of 12 or 13 wins

Sometimes I hate to be right.

What is hard hearing game after game is how much talent we have! Perhaps , .we do not have as much as we think we have

disagree..think we are a talented team...more talented than Xavier...we didn't use our talent properly today

Xavier is well coached and we aren't

Our fans have been saying all season how much more talented we are. Yet we keep losing.

Strange, huh?

I'd like for us to have one of those small forward types who can shoot and create his own shot.

I like Pointer, but you can't count on him game to game. He's like a satchel of Halloween candy.... A mixed bag.
So...you wouldn't say he's like a box of chocolates?

Really gave one away today...going with and staying with that lineup to start 2nd half turned this game...

Someone asked where was Branch today?

Branch was keeping Felix company on the bench.

Branch tried an alley oop that went bad instead of going for the easy layup he had...that was it for him.

Really, was Branch a DNP for a reason?

I missed that (did not see the whole game), but if that's so, its crazy.

If this team is going to go anywhere this year they have to win the next 5 in row. I know I will get pushback with this comment but @Georgetown (a must win after this game), Villanova ( we need a signature win), @DePaul, Dartmouth and Providence.

If we won today I was going to take off thursday and friday and take a trip down to DC for the Gtown game.

I'll be saving that money for a new vacation instead

We gotta win, at least, one of the two upcoming games.

IMO, we need to win on Saturday. I don't wanna go into the game versus 'Nova being 0-2.

If you win Saturday, then you may have some confidence playing in the conference home opener versus a ranked opponent.
