Who do you think the staff will sign next?

By Rivals count Lavin and staff have thus far extended 14 offers to recruits and had zero commits.

No way to spin this recruiting cycle a success at this point in time.

It is September are you effing kidding me?

Lavin has signed a top 100 kid in the spring every year he's been here. No way to spin that.

Marillac ... what part of my above post that stated "at this point in time" don't you understand? Thanks.

Your statement is as foolish pausing the Starks' dunk over Jordan before Starks leaves the ground and saying "at this point there is no way to spin this dunk as a success." It is SEPTEMBER. My cereal couldn't be spun as a success until I added the damn milk and ate it. Jesus. And save your passive aggressive thanks. Stick to posting about how awesome Villanova football will be.

Marillac.... Too funny.

Your DUCK to my above question is telling. Please get back to me when you learn to read, or otherwise understand that the phrase "at this point in time" when written on September 20th is September as you apparently didn't understand when you posted your first reply.

I hope you have an enjoyable weekend. Thanks again.

At this point in time my weekend can't be spun as enjoyable.

Wow, marillac needs to spend less time watching game tape and more time working on his analogies ;)

His analogy-less "At this point in time my weekend can't be spun as enjoyable" was rather brilliant, though.

You are right about this.

But on September 2011 we knew that the staff was recruiting Sampson and Obepka. And on September 2012 we knew that the staff was recruiting Lawrence and Jordan.

I'm still not sure this is a real reason to panic. If we play the way our on-paper roster says we should, new names will emerge.

One thing we can be sure of. Lavin will not cave to the demands of handlers. That was the case with Gathers, Lawrence and now Whitehead. I'm sure there were others that we don't know about.

According to a twitter post, as it stands now 4/5 star commits by conference: ACC (17), Big East (13), Pac 12 (11), SEC (9), American (5), and Big 12 (2).
Anyone surprised that the Big East is as close to the ACC in commits?

Considering the number of schools, as well as the profile of their programs vs. ours, I am quite surprised. I assume this is for 2014. Duke has a couple of elite players yet to commit. I'm sure there are others.

I did see that mention the other day and went ahead and looked myself. I was happy to see. And that pretty much just includes Gtown, Prov, Marquette, Nova and Hall. Not really anyone else.

*Should note though that a good chunk of the American conference will go into the ACC boosting that number even more in the future.

I am surprised...even more impressive given the disparity in conference size (15 teams vs. 10)

Nice for the BE. Id be happier if a couple of top 100 recruits were going to sju and we were contributing to the total. Who knows maybe a couple of top 100 recruits will decommit and Lavin can real them in. But, like Marrilac says its only Sept. Would love to get a quality big. It seems like Adonis is picking up more offers.

While I understand what Otis is saying - stating a fact so obvious that a dead man could pick up on it - I also understand Marillac's point.

By making the original post Otis can take the position that he's simply stating a fact, however it will be read by some that Otis was implying failure by pointing out a lack of success, and taking the position that the recruiting cycle is a failure.

Well a cycle needs to go completely around to finish and then be critiqued. I guess the point is that Otis' original post was meaningless and useless except to act as a catalyst for those who already have been running around like Chicken Little, and the last thing we need is new reasons for some posters to be thrown back into a tizzy reminiscent of my 3 year old niece.

* So "a good chunk" is one school? LOL!
Note: if the courts rule against the ACC vs Maryland, how long before Florida State, Clemson or Ga Tech, or Va Tech hang around? The ACC of the future would look more like the Big East they envied with the same shi**y football. If that is what ESPN wished for......they should beware of what they wish for. LOL!

At this point I have no idea who the staff will sign. Not many names out there that I see us on besides Wilfredo Rodriguez and Delarosa. I'm confident that whoever we land, they will be good players. Lavin has yet to fail at delivering quality recruits. Likely won't be a Whitehead-caliber kid, but we don't require that to be real good.

Yes think we should have recd a verabal from 1 2014 player What does that mean that we have all these offers out there and no verbals Maybe nothing or perhaps we are not viewed as many on this board will like us to be?
Also losing IW hurt Maybe we should have stayed on top of him more

I think one of the problems we have is we are loaded and can not guarantee starting positions. Its still early, but a lot of top recruits are already off the board. We are going to have to start reloading or we may be in trouble for 15. The last 2 years things have not looked good re; recruiting until spring. I don't even know who we are really targeting except for Adonis. I would like to see more serious targets pop up.
