Who do you think the staff will sign next?

I figure I would start this thread. Yes it is a bit unfair since there are many unknown variables like transfers and decommitments the staff could be in on as the fall turns into winter. But from the kids we are still in on, who do you think it will be?

It also may be a good way to move on from the bitter taste of the recent crap show recruiting process.

Finally an intelligent topic to discuss. Thank you very much.
Personally I hope it is the BIG girl from California that is on her official visit this weekend. We have very good guards and wings and a 6 3 skilled post would be great.
For the men I hope it is Adonis as the men need a space eater. Sorry that I may be in the minority but I am thrilled with the guards we will have the next two seasons and truly believe any immediate future weakness (2014-2015) will be at the 4 and/or 5.

Dela Rosa.

It probably will be in the spring when we get a commitment. There will certainly be some unknown variables that will come into play over the next few months.

Coming from you Aubie, I would have bet the ranch you would have said your oldest son would be next to commit. ;)

Too soon!

I think the staff is keeping tabs on the JUCO trifecta of Chandler-Morris-Wood. The reality, as hard as it may be for some to accept, is that there is a good chance either Wood or Morris could be just as good as Whitehead will be his first two years. Morris played at a top high school and will have two years of college experience under his belt. Wood played two years at Bridgton and will also have two years of college (1 year of actually seeing the court).

I think you're right but we need a couple of "bigs" that can play to replace Sanchez and Gift
The only "big" left after this season is Obekpa
I'm not sold on Jones being a major contributor in the future based on his performance last season nor do I see him getting much playing time to develop this year
If the staff believes that he has a bright future, it might be a good idea to redshirt him this season to give him 3 more years of eligibility

It would be nice to get Wood back in the fold but a big man would be my first priority. Delarosa looks to have some upside but probably will need a year of conditioning before he can be a real help.

Agree did not like this game last yr

The only thing I know is that we will sign somebody. That's for certain.

I think a long SF is next, but he'll be our backup PF for a year before switching to his natural position.

I'm going out on a crazy limb here because he's not even a current target but I get the feeling that we will soon pursue Mike Nzei (PF from OSNA) and he'll commit to us

I can also very much see Lavin only signing 2 players, saving a scholarship for 2015

Aubie,
Who's the big from Cali visiting? Also, is Bianca Cuevas being recruited?

Harold I rarely ask, I have learned to listen.
After the first two commitments , a pg and a 6 1 wing the staff said they have 3 visits planned with top level talent who were all tall players.
I was told 1 was from Minnesota and the staff was elated last weekend when Tonoia Wade committed on her visit, there is a big girl from California and she is visiting right now and the last is from New Jersey.
I do not know if we are recruiting Bianca and if we are not rest assured there is a very good reason.

By Rivals count Lavin and staff have thus far extended 14 offers to recruits and had zero commits.

No way to spin this recruiting cycle a success at this point in time.

Lets hope for good news.

If I said the same exact thing I would be in the doghouse lol...anyway we have to focus most on 2015...it's ok to pocket the scholarships. We aren't desperate now but we need a very strong class in '15. That class will tell us if we should be concerned or not IMO.

It is September are you effing kidding me?

Lavin has signed a top 100 kid in the spring every year he's been here. No way to spin that.

You'd never say the same thing without a bunch of hysterics thrown in. Plus, Otis probably said close to the same thing last fall.

Were you not hugged enough as a child? Why do you have to make everything about you! Please restrain yourself and try not to reply to this post. I bet you can't. #lastwordfreak
