????I know that there was some disagreement with my television markets theory on our chances...but think about it. Would TBS (I think that they have the first 4 games) rather have Colonial champion vs SWAC champion or NEC champion in a first 4 game...or St. John's vs SWAC/NEC champ?Wow looks like 90% of us were wrong. From Lunardi: "Big East tournament: Conveniently, St. John's and Providence square off in a Thursday afternoon quarterfinal (with the winner likely facing Villanova). The loser is out of the NCAA picture and we'll most likely see the winner at the First Four in Dayton, Ohio."
I dont know about you guys but that makes me feel good.
With all due respect to Lunardi, the winner will bypass Dayton.
TBS is praying for the opportunity to get St John's into a first 4 game to give it some juice (and potential viewership)...
St John's would play a fellow bubble team, like an Arkansas/Minnesota/St Joes
Your first four teams/games last year:
Middle Tennessee vs St. Marys, Liberty vs NC A&T, Boise State vs LaSalle and James Madison vs LIU
Off the top of my head, 6 of the 8 teams were not bubble teams. They were automatic qualifyers that won conference tourneys.
