Assistant Van Macon was the lead recruiter for Posh Alexander. Second local recruit Macon has been integral in landing, after Julian Champagnie. #sjubb

Great news and excellent job by CMA and staff.

I remember, at the time of his hire, the biggest knock against Coach Anderson was that the NYC landscape was completely foreign to him. Today, after just five months on the job, he landed a top NYC point guard. That's pretty darn good work.

Alexander twice visited St. John’s recently, first with his high school team and then his family. He was drawn to the family atmosphere the staff is creating and the close bond it’s developing with its players. Everything he saw and felt, he heard from soon-to-be St. John’s freshman Julian Champagnie, a fellow Brooklyn native and friend. How Anderson would personally meet with players daily and the interest everyone on staff was taking in the development of the members of the team.

“When I went on an unofficial visit, I felt it was a great place for me to be,” he said.

Amazing what CMA and staff have accomplished in such a short period of time. With a plan, a disciplined approach and good old hard work, they've repositioned St. John's with local players.

Very excited to have Posh on board and to see what the staff builds over the next few years.

Our good friend JPM114;

Significant 1st get for #sjubb 20 class. They fill the key position on all college teams with a kid who's both physically and mentally tough. Also love that former Molloy standout Shandue McNeil coached him for the lightning. That's why he's a coach on the floor

I'm very happy with this addition. Couldn't ask for a better start to our 2020 class!

Great pick-up. He's the tough nosed type of PG that thrives in CMA's systems.

On another note, Slater is hating again, I was waiting on him to say something negative I knew he couldn't stay positive for long. Zach tweeted out that Kadary Richmond was good friends with Posh and keep an eye on that, and Slater quickly tried to shut that down. Now I'm rooting extra hard for Richmond to go to St. John's.

Jeff Goodman hating too...

“Nice job by Mike Anderson and his staff, but let’s face it: It’s not as if they beat out anyone huge for this kid to my knowledge. Should beat Dayton, Illinois and Pitt for a local kid. But again: nice pickup for the Johnnies.”

Honestly I’d be pissed off if our coach got along Jeff Goodman.

Goodman, a man with a face made for radio.

I hope Posh pushes Kadary. With both Slater and Goodman pushing buttons, would really like to land him. We have plenty of other options but another local like Kadary would be perfect. That said, welcome Posh. Now we have Posh and McGriff moving forward at the point which should be very solid start. Keep reeling this level of talent in.
