I might profess my love for a lady, but if I left her for another lady I couldn't have loved her all that much. He left last time, hope he loves us enough to not leave again.

He left for a seemingly better boss hoping to recapture that Iowa State magic that was way more magical than St. John's had been. Unfortunately, Nebraska is one of the worst high major programs around.
I'd bet my life he loves St. John's more than Nebraska, but sometimes you need to make career decisions based on something other than heart.

Honestly with Mullin I think we all saw the titanic and I forget who had written it here but a lot of assistants go year toytear or on few years contract ( execpt Slice Bonillla ) I say this as someone who has worked for the same company for 31 years but I'd have done the same as Matt and I'd probably have jumped ship the first time he sat on the scorers table

I get your point RSNC, but Lou left to test the waters with a pro job. It didn't work out so he came back. Not the same thing. Lou bled SJU red. Still does. No one doubts that. In todays world of college sports, there are very few employees who "love" the school they work for so much that they won't jump at a better opportunity. Guess that's the world we live in.

If I’m not mistaken, Matt left the same year Chris left. Can’t blame him for that. Maybe he saw the handwriting on the wall? I am willing to take you and Matt to lunch so you can ask him yourself about his commitment to St John’s.

Matt left when we all knew CM was on the hot seat. A lot of people were unhappy when he left but it was most definitely the correct decision for his career.
