LJ Figueroa is staying at St. John's, he announced on Instagram. Source said it was decided today. Huge news for new coach Mike Anderson. #sjubb[/quote]
LJ Figeuroa is staying at St. John's, per his Instagram page. Massive news for Mike Anderson. The Red Storm can be a player in the Big East in 19-20 if they add a piece or two in the back court.

That is phenomenal news. Add a solid PG (hopefully Thornton) and one more big (assuming here that Keita is gone & Heron is staying) and we can be a very good team.

LJ will flourish and star in CMA's run & run system.
Now, adding a grad transfer guard to fill that 3rd guard spot, whether it be a combo guard or PG is the priority. If they can land a quality guy there, I like how they'll look next year.

LJ honestly needed more coaching that he got last year. I think LJ can be an even better player, Heron too, with more structure.

There's so much to like about LJ Figueroa's game. At 6-foot-6, such a match-up nightmare who did so many little things that were key for @StJohnsBBall to make the NCAA Tournament this past season. His return is a major piece for Mike Anderson to lay a foundation in Queens. #SJUBB
Something @StJohnsBBall fans have been waiting on: LJ Figueroa confirming he will return to the Johnnies. Will absolutely thrive in @Iron_MikeMA up-tempo, havoc-inducing system.
Great news and the key piece in the structure of the team. Plays 100 percent every game. Add Thornton and Heron to a big guy and this is a better team than last year with a lot of depth.
