Welcome Andre Curbelo

To the extent LW's post was directed at me, my support for CMA is not unwavering. As I've said more than once last season was a bad year for him. On the other hand, he did an excellent job the year before and a decent job his first year. I do like him and am rooting for him to succeed but also agree that if we don't dance in year 4, his seat should be white hot. I tend to support the coach until it's crystal clear it won't work. I supported Mullin for first 3 and a half seasons, but was happy to see him leave because by the 4th year it was clear he wouldn't put in the time needed to succeed as a college coach. Anyway, back to Curbelo.
Your balance and positivity is refreshing and welcome NCJ. While I can't speak for LW, I do not think that he was referencing you. I know that I wasn't, I can assure you of that.

QUEENS, N.Y. (April 25, 2022) –
The St. John’s men’s basketball team has officially added an experienced talent to the Red Storm roster with the signing of junior guard Andre Curbelo. A local product who starred at Long Island Lutheran, Curbelo comes to Queens after two seasons at Illinois where he earned 2021 Big Ten Sixth Man of the Year and All Freshman-Team honors.

I love going back and reading these old threads with the wisdom of hindsight. I got lambasted on this thread for, amongst other things, even daring to question a poster who claimed that Curbelo was a huge upgrade over Dunn. He actually said I was embarrassing myself. Hysterical.

Best back court in the Big East? You have two guards with basically the same skill set and who both need the ball to be effective. Unless one of them develops a long range jump shot, they don’t compliment each other at all. Hoping this happens but calling them the best backcourt in the conference with what Creighton and others are bringing to the table is a stretch.
Good call

He is much more of a liability than an asset and that
aint good for the team.
He has amazing talent but his brain is not commensurate with that.
He is consistent with making the same mistakes , over and over
and then over again
I watch him am play and I'm actually embarrassed for him, but he
is totally oblivious to his turnovers. How many times can one force the ball !

I really think that he is not coachable and is simply totally in love with his game.
