We Should Play Cuse at Carnesecca Arena

first of all who are the the future rivals that are going to pack the garden? second of all cuse and pitt arent playing on our dime by coming to msg. and i guess that st. johns doesnt need the money because they charge 35k a year
tuition

First things first: Those rivals have yet to be developed. If they were easy to spot then you'd have your answer already, wouldn't you? The Simple answer is to put the Rutgers/Seton Hall/Providence games there and work on developing them. Their continued success would benefit us as well. Besides, if the Football and Basketball teams ever split, we'll need those schools to be as strong as possible.

Cuse and Pitt are gone. Get over it. Start planning for the future and stop living in the past.

Secondly...when teams play us at MSG (outside of the BE tournament) it IS on our dime. Its one of OUR home games. Why on god's green earth would you want to waste a valuable asset like an MSG home game of ours on ANY program that stabbed us in the back on its way to a selfish money grab that could ultimately lead to our complete irrelevance as a basketball program?

Screw Pitt. Screw Cuse. They made choices that will benefit them. We'd be beyond stupid not to do the same when it comes to dealing with them.

Finally...sure...we could use the money. A school like St Johns can ALWAYS use the money. But this is a different era. There is more money going into this program (and therefore the university) than ever before. We could USE the extra couple of hundred K but its not going to kill us if we pass on it once or twice over the next couple of years.

If we take Syracuse off the schedule, I am guessing MSG may become the venue for one or more Syracuse home games - perhaps the reaosn Syracuse is advertising on NYC cabs.

Not sure if you know but they have advertised on cabs for like 4-5 years now. Props to them for seeing a chance. Even Fordham uses a great NY centric slogan. STJ marketing asleep at the wheel. Shocking I know.

Are you suggesting the Syracuse isn't going to try to do that IF we kept them on the schedule?
I'm not buying that.

MSG has to do what it has to do. We can't control that. Of Course, if we are a perennial title contender we can perhaps pressure them into supporting or relationship over any they might develop with Syracuse.

But even if that happens, we don't need to support it or be a part of it.

As for the Cab and Bus ads claiming to be New York's team. They've been around for a few years now. Thank Jarvis and Roberts for that.

your way off. There is no chance that we are out numbered by cuse fans at CA.

I guess you haven't been to any Syracuse games at MSG in the last ten years, because their fans outnumber ours, by a lot.

I think the BE tourney game last year was 50/50

BE Tourney isn't the best example due to the different ticket distribution policies in place. 1/16th of the place to each team and then tix for the most adventurous scalper customers as the week goes on.

majority of syracuse fans dont travel to the BE tourney till friday
