@Villanova, Wed., Feb. 12 , 6p, FS-1

Look, let's take this loss to Villanova as frustrating, no doubt. It was a winnable game, and we didn’t play up to our potential. But let’s not lose sight of the bigger picture—this team has been one of the best in the country for the last month and a half. A 10-game winning streak doesn’t happen by accident. We’ve been playing elite basketball, and one loss doesn’t erase that.

Now, that being said, we can’t afford to let this snowball. The key to a great season is bouncing back quickly, and we have the perfect opportunity to do that on Sunday against Creighton. A win there evens things out and puts us right back on track. This team has responded to adversity before, and I fully expect them to do it again.

We still control our own destiny. We still have one of the most talented rosters in the country. And we still have a coach in Rick Pitino who knows how to get the most out of his team. One setback doesn’t define a season—how we respond does. Time to regroup, come out strong on Sunday, and remind everyone why we’ve been one of the hottest teams in the nation. Let’
s go!

Under normal circumstances, I would advise people to step away from the ledge because it is one loss after a 10 game winning streak.

But these are not normal circumstances. Here, I would push people off that ledge because it is one loss after a 10 game winning streak.
I think I’m done now, but the after-game posts have made me feel much better. Thank you to those who contributed.

Hey the loss was disappointing but not completely unexpected. Nova is a tough out at home, ask Yukon. I’m still proud of these guys and there’s lots of season ahead. Obviously Sundays game is important if we dare to dream of a regular season conference championship but I’m still thrilled the way the season has unfolded.

Lots more excitement ahead….. Go Johnnies.
They also had creighton on the ropes until ashworth had the lucky bounce on his three to win it.

We have to acknowledge that this is a 6 man team. Prey does give us good minutes but not likely to change trajectory of the game. So missing Deivon was huge. Except for when Simeon hobbled off, I think every starter went all 20 of the second half. Yes no quit in team in a game they traid by 0 ihe first half, and then 11. Glober's handle needs work, and Vince, is, well, Vince. Not our best game, but team grit despite off nights by Luis and Zuby still almost got the job done.

So ask yourself this question, what has a better chance of scoring? A Kadary drive and pull up mid range shot, a Luis mid range or a “rushed” and it was, Wilcher three? If you picked the latter, I don’t know what to tell u.
I think you have to "rush" the shot a bit there, because you're behind, and you want to get a second chance with a possible offensive rebound.

Good job by Neptune putting a defender in the backcourt, to make sure we have to touch the ball, and kill 2 or 3 seconds just getting the ball past halfcourt. I've never understood why some coaches just let the ball roll, and don't kill clock.

Can we bring in the Jims as a DOBO or something. He’d have the boys fired up. The Jims are such freaking beauties.

Um the press helped bring us back a couple of times, it definitely bothered them and makes you take longer to get into your offense. That’s why.

There are different types of press and their only intent is not always to come up with a steal.
But in this situation Dave, we didn’t need a turnover or pressure for that matter, we needed a solid defense in the front court and the scrambling press allowed for an open three.
