This is the type of game St. John’s usually loses. They beat DePaul and now are on the road with a chance to go 2-0 in a game they’re not necessarily expected to but are clearly capable of winning. It’s usually against Butler or Providence or Hall or whoever but this year that mid-tier Big East team is Villanova. If anything I almost have more faith in them performing against a #3 Duke or #2 Jay Wright Villanova team than I do in an standard away game against an average to slightly above average Big East opponent.

Sure it’s not a “must win” but if this year’s team is going to be any different a win here would be an early indication of that. Just subvert my expectations for once here and pull out a solid road win. Not asking for a massive upset. Just a nice win so we’re not playing catch up as usual near selection time.

I know many are counting on our ball pressure against their guards to sway the games but Arch Jr. is fairly steady and Armstrong, while a frosh, is one of the best frosh PGs in the country who handled Iowa State's and Oklahoma's pressure fairly well. I think that the key may come down to a productive and foul free Soriano and hitting some outside shots. Looking forward to this one.

Not a bad start. You live with Longino taking that 3 hopefully he doesn’t decide tonight is the night he can make shots

Refs letting them play. Thought we could of went to the line once or twice so far.

Nova looking good from 3 so far. That’s not good for us. They’re wide open 3’s
