I’m no doctor but , Shin Splints are a chronic condition for some Athletes .
Results from injury sustained from Sports Activity , Running , Jumping , Weight lifting , etc .

Dr Google assisted me in this diagnosis .
My son was a cross country and middle distance runner in high school and he struggled with those early on but they eventually got better and when he was running his best COVID hit and oh well it didn't matter anymore.

I can speak from a medical standpoint and will say that if he was even a bit too sore to play or noticeably limping or compensating etc he wouldn’t be and they would make him rest it.

He probably always has some soreness being that it sounds like this is chronic for him and he knows when it gets too much to play for himself. But then the medical staff will have their say and together they probably come up with a solution to play or not. If it’s a chronic thing that he’s been dealing with he knows his body better than anyone else and the medical staff will definitely listen to his input.

Part of the problem here could be how much practice matters with a Pitino team but in reality he should rest as much as he could so he could play. Think they have to come up with a practice plan for him that allows the best of both worlds for this player.

While I have a lot of confidence in Rick and whoever he puts on the court to be competitive if not always win every game going forward. I also know we can have a bad game that gets away from us. That said missing Ledlum makes it just a little harder. I say that because in spite of some of his shot selection issues he is a very good rebounder and a decent three point shooter when left open. He is 4-11 in Big East games. When I saw the list of the Big East's most under appreciated players I thought of Ledlum. That said let’s go beat Nova!
With Ledlum out I think we will lean heavily on Soriano and Jenkins. We will have to win this game with Defense imo. With hopefully a nice game from Dingle and Zuby/Wilcher giving us real productive minutes. The X-factor(s) being Luis/Taylor.

This would be a HUGE win without Ledlum. That being said I would really like to see what this team can do when mostly healthy. But sitting him now is the safe bet. Sitting him the next two if that is what it takes to get him close to 100%. We are going to need a healthy CL if we want to go anywhere this year IMO. Fingers crossed.

In my opinion I think Luis is going to wind up being an enigma here. He’s had an injury history going back to high school. I think he’s going to be in and out the entire time he’s here. We’ll be a better team when he’s available and when he’s not we just have to have the depth to compensate.
I think that CRP will fix that in the off season the same as he fixed Joel's physicality this past year.

No, actually I did. I have a SAG card and an IMBD page, really. I did a lot of commercials and voiceovers in the 90's.
Just when you think you know everything about Greg. He blind sides us again with new info :)

Sag awards movie screener dvd's coming out soon. Nathalie opted in for the dvd's I'm too tech challenged to be doing the digital screeners

You and monte definitely need to post a thread with links of your roles for all to see here. Some of Monte’s not sure if can be posted here so we need to keep it rated r or pg lol.

They can do a movie together. Premise would be like the odd couple. 2 actors one speaks Italian the other French the only thing they have in common are chicks and st johns

As a long-suffering St. John’s fan and past season ticket holder, it's so frustrating to finally have a coach like Rick, and a roster starting to come around, and have a winnable game on the road. Only to not have a full, healthy team on the floor today. As many have said, maybe 1 or 2 step up besides the usuals. Maybe Dingle comes to play today, and Drissa and Zuby have solid games as well. Go Redmen!

I would not be surprised to see Ledlum play today. Fingers crossed.

My best guess is that Pitino held both out of practice because an ankle can get aggravated pretty easily and shin splints are kind of a wear and trear injury. Certainly both could get aggravated in the Butler game, but I didn't see any evidence of Ledlum reinjuring it. My guess is and this is pretty normal, the next morning his ankle was swollen and stiff and he was hobbling a bit. No need to aggravate it with practice, so hydrotherapy and I'm going to guess he plays.

Luis a little trickier. He seemed fine right after the game, going into stands with family and/or friends. But it's possible he woke up the next day and it took a step backwards.

I'm going to bet both play today, but less sure about Luis. I'd say Ledlum is 80% going to play, Luis maybe 60%.

I'll prob be wrong, but I think that's an educated guess.

Game wise, this is where having an entire roster of guys who have played competitive (non-garbage time) minutes, Rick has a lot of flexibility in terms of who he decides to play. We are probably in for some surprises. It may be Drissa who gets Ledlum minutes, or maybe we go three guards at times. We do know Glen Taylor is fresh and eager to go.
