Villanova, Sat. Jan. 14, 12 Noon, FS1/570AM

Let Villanova "own" that rotten city called Philadelphia, where the fans throw snowballs at Santa Claus and boo a potentially paralyzed opposing player when he is carted off the field.

Let's also remember that their first championship is tainted by the fact that the squad was filled with drugies and reprobates (except for Pinkney). Rollie was a fraud. Plus, any other matchup if we met Nova in the semis or the finals we win the National Championship, not them, we had their number that year, and G Town had ours.

Their BB pavilion was paid for by a black sheep duPont who was fond of young male wrestlers.

Their Law School lied about their statistics in order to move up the law school rankings only to be caught and drop precipitously.

Let's hope they do not get a bunch of standing ovations in NYC when St. John's is supposed to be playing at home.

...... their first championship ........
......Their Law School ......drop precipitously.

Key points in Brook's above post-

1. I wish we could refer to St.Joflhn's "first" or "second" national championship in men's basketball.

2. Don't knock the ranking of Villanova's law school because US News ranks it even with St.John's.

Excited to see MSG sold out, even if it's mostly Nova fans. I am a bit concerned the game will be over after the first few minutes, but hoping for the best.

Well, on the optimistic side, we did hang tough with them last year at MSG for the first half and only lost the game by 15 points. That was with almost no production from our then-starting guards Balamou and Mussini who scored 5 points combined. So who knows....

As I am about to head into the city for the game I will be reciting this the entire way

Hail Mary full of Grace, the Lord is with thee

Please don't let us lose by more than twenty

Sound like "Fredo" fishing for last time.

Paschall worries me. Could see his game of the season against us

So I decided to come. Got here at about 11:30 and already looks like 80-20 Nova. Ugh!

But as Mike suggests, "Hail Mary, full of grace......"

Anyone know why the German is on the bench. Did he get hurt?

Zach Braziller @ Post is reporting quad injury.

Must be all those squats the team has done to pack on all that lower body mass.

Did I miss something, is Ponds not starting/playing?

Also, we gotta stop with the wild, out of control shots.

Edit: Nevermind. I missed the first few minutes, did he not start?

Experienced team sharing the ball vs. inexperienced team watching Ahmed trying to beat Nova by himself. When is the next time we are going to see players go balls out without the ball in their hands or stupidly trying to block shots? To add, how many times will Lovett get stripped dribbling the ball to nowhere?

It's sad when Mussini is our best defender in a half.

We should be up, but too many bad mistakes and undisciplined plays. We gotta play more cohesive on offense and stop jumping at every pump fake.

As always, Nova fans staying tame. They wait until they know it's safe before they erupt.

Can't complain. Hanging tough, But we have no inside game. Hopefully staff gets us a nice big for next year. I thought our D is better today. Kids playing hard. Experience, discipline and smarts the difference in the game.

Press press pressure pressure for the next 20 minutes.. Nova only plays 7... They got frazzled the few times we applied some pressure.. Go big or go home
