Villanova (MSG), Wed., Jan. 24, 8:30p, FS-1

He looked good with bigger minutes in rhe lineup. Definitely maturing. Little doubt he has a high ceiling. Stepped up a lot. Dunlap better right now off the bench. He will have his time as well. Ejiofor has come on in a big way especially defensively. Far better than Soriano. I think he will improve his offense a ton next season.

Overall amazing to sweep Nova. This kinda win definitely has tourney implications that are not yet realized considering the quality of this win and a sweep by a large margin. Let’s grab another win next game. Easiest portion of our schedule is the tail.
Pitino gets an “A” for this game. Preparation and coaching.

That couldn't have gone any better. Wilcher looked comfortable, by far the best he's been all year. More important than his two jumpers and steals was his entry pass to Joel at the elbow and in the deep post that led to the foul. That got Joel going early and especially important when we've struggled getting the ball into Joel in recent games. After Nova cut it to five with 12 minutes to go in the second half we proceeded to play lights out basketball the rest of the way. Joel showed tremendous growth on the defensive end during that stretch; contested Dixon on 3s, perfectly executed double teams, stayed grounded on pump fakes, and walled up around the rim. That was the most disciplined I've ever seen him on that end, don't believe he committed a foul in that stretch either. Can't overstate how massive a change that is from him and hope to see that continue going forward. Our teams ceiling is contingent on that level of defense from him. Also, Ledlum played his best defensive game. Got burned a couple times in the first half on drives, but for what feels like the first time all season he stopped a drive late in that second half. This team is growing by the possession. Much needed week off, that was a grueling stretch of games they went through. Thank God for that W to keep our sanity over the next week. Onto Xavier

Wilcher is going to the School of Pitino and studying. It is the Harvard of College Basketball 😁

Great defensive effort tonite. Every time Bamba penetrated there was plenty of help. Kudos to our staff and kids.

In terms of Brady, if the kid can’t make a foul shot he doesn’t belong in the court.

Liked his midrange game tonight and his defense. He’s coming along.
His step back creates an absurd amount of space. I like when he goes to those muscle memory moves and stops overthinking.

He got a little casual with the ball at one point and got his pocket picked by Moore or Bamba. He’s got a whole offseason next to Pitino to go over each of those mistakes 50x.
