Villanova (MSG), Fri., Jan. 20, 7p, FS-1

Just no excuse for tonight. If we can't beat an unusually weak Nova team on our home court, we have no right to even dream about dancing. I'm done with this staff, they just find ways to lose every game that matters.
The only thing I'm dreaming about is the post season press conference introducing Pick Pitino as the new head coach. Although I fully expect that dream to be as likely to happen as Oscar Madison's dream.

just got back from the game... squished next to Nova fans on the LIRR with 2/3 kids screaming... I'm normally not this upset after a loss... but what a Putrid performance.

The epitome of Shitting the Bed....wife who never watches basketball asked 3 times in the last 8 mins... "don't they have a play? what do they make such bad passes? They beat uConn?"

I have never witnessed such lifeless basketball in front of such a "packed" (for SJU- that was a really great turnout- looked it atleast) Home crowd. There was no play that got the crowd into it... no big time fast break... big time 3... so many chances to get that Home crowd into the game and they failed at every opportunity.

This is the most mediocre Nova team this Century and we got swept.

What a way to kill any momentum this team had.... hopefully this is just emotions running hot right now... but what ugly basketball from both sides...and we were uglier.

Posh, Curbelo and Jones all seem to suffer the same thing. The longer they play under the SJU staff the more their games deteriorate. If they all return next year under Anderson it will be an interesting season.

couple more thought...

Jones looks shook... not sure wtf happened to him... he has absolutely 0 confidence and actually looks like he forgot how to play...

Stanley was a turnover waiting to happen when he touched the ball the last 10 mins...

Pinzon...cmon man, cant have an article highlighting you and not get off the bus...

One postive... even though Nova is offensively challenged as well... I thought we played good D for 35 minutes....

OK... i think I'm done.

This was a game that the crowd was dying to get in to. They never gave us any kind of sustained run. It was so ugly

Just back from game and I am LIVID. I said it earlier in the week and stand by it. . .This was a game we SHOULD have won. We had a GREAT crowd there = overwhelmingly SJ fans and didn’t get one opportunity exert our influence as the 6th man.

From the opening tip, it just seemed that the moment was too big for us. . .very skittish. . .almost like we couldn’t play with the high expectations that come with being the favored team.

Curbelo’s season long penchant to attempt risky plays was the ultimate nail in the coffin - but they all contributed tonight. For me the play that really hurt us was Posh passing up an uncontested layup for a contested layup when we were up 6 and looking to expand the lead.

We had a clear path to get to .500 by Feb 1 at which point we would be back in the mix - but blew it. Frustrating.

Under Anderson, wtf would they even keep him?
Serious question here: If SJU kept Anderson after this crap season, then why should anyone even care about SJU basketball unless you just want to torment yourself.

Impossible to take anything positive from this game or this season. We are the essence of mediocrity. I no longer have even the faintest desire to come up to NY for a game. Bring back Lavin!
