How does it get to the point where you only have a 6-man rotation? Especially when only one of them is taller than 6-6?

I've never seen this in my life watching St. John's or college basketball in general. Not without sanctions or something like that.

Is it Lavin's fault that half of our fouls came on ticky tacky plays that had no impact on the play?

It is his fault that this game was over when pointer, who isn't even a forward naturally, fouls out of the game because he is our only tall player after obekpa.

It is his fault that Christian jones and Amar aren't even options cause he decided against giving them time to develop against mid majors in OOC.

It is his fault that he is wasting away DLos senior season because he decided against giving him some help on the recruiting trail.

Lavin moved Pointer to a forward this year, and he has been playing the best basketball of his career. Do you want to criticize him for that too?

That has nothing to do with anything jumbo. We have seniors that would chop off their own testicles to play in a damn NCAA tournament game but they've been failed by Steve Lavin. Spin it any way you want but that is how it is

hmm i knew that it would fall apart in the second half. you are right the lack depth and size is hurting the team. regardless of what happens by the end of the season dangelo harrison will be one my favorite st john's player. tonight's game just epitomizes his career here. leaves his body out there and plays with fire I wonder where those its addition by subtraction (sampson) fans are.

That was clearly not the move of a genius
The reality is that Lavin had nobody else to play there
In fact, it has been stated that he wanted to redshirt Pointer this year
Don't give Lavin credit for that move (or any other for that matter)

By my count, even if Jordan and Obepka return next season to play with lightweights Christian jones, Amar, Felix, Joey DeLaRosa, Henderson and unknowns ADR, and Samir Doughty, StJohn's will have only 9 players, being 4 short of a full D1 roster.

With that returning cast you could not blame Jordan and Obepka for not returning.

No doom and gloom. This loss just shows what we lack. Nothing our players could've done about this. They played their hearts out.

If DLo and this team make the tournament, it will be despite the bonehead that decided not to field a team other than the 6. SJU took the lead with 15 minutes left in 2nd half, while their starters were resting up for the home stretch.

You saw it when this game started, we can play with anyone in the nation, but without a bench it is hard. As we all saw.

Season not over. But a blueprint on how to beat us was printed tonight.
