OK guys. What do we need to do differently in the second half. Aside from make our shots!

1) guard the 3 point line. We did a better job the second part of the 1st half.
2) wear down their guards
3) limit turnovers. Make smart decisions with the ball
4) show more of the blonde with huge cans that just gave the Fox Sports update

I agree. If you told me CO would be out 12 minutes in and that we only had 27 points, I'd figure we'd be getting our heads kicked in.

Only down a point? I'll not only take it, but say this style of play falls into our hands.

They have missed a ton of wide open looks. We are fortunate. They have to crack the defense, though. Jordan has to step up...he looks timid. It seriously looks like Nova has six defenders. Easy buckets...we need more of them. More movement...more screens...they scramble when we screen and pass it quickly.

That offensive rebounding fest was the best thing I've seen all year. That is St. John's basketball and that is how you stay in games. Big time effort.

Jordan looks timid...Pointer is a mess...Sampson will likely have to be the guy in this one.
 
lavin with a brain fart...should have pulled branch after the 2nd fould....branch picks up his third, and lavin STILL leaves him in.


I realize branch isn't a huge part of our rotation but its all hands on deck...we need everyone.

There isn't a coach in the country that would have taken Branch out that quickly with ten seconds left. He doesn't play that much and when was the last time he was in foul trouble? That was as ticky-tack as they come.
 
Is CO ok, Will he be coming out in the 2 nd half? Surprised Lavin didn't pull CO immediately after his 2nd foul. Also thought Girft should have been in. Not shooting well, but only down by 1.

Second half can be a different story. Relax.
 
Agree we need Sampson and Harrison with a faster pace on offense, but we
Can't rely on Sampson and Pointer as the center and power forward on defense.
Gods Gift is a must without Obekpa and Sanchez
He would allow Sampson more flexibility to move more and to get defensive rebounds or blocks when their forwards and guards penetrate.
 
we shot 28% from the floor in the first half....and we got plenty of open looks. the only thing we have to do differently is hit shots.....and limit dom's minutes.
 
20 minutes of Redmen basketball to solidify their season. If they play like they did in first half they won't deserve it. If they bring it, they will leave with a W.
 
We have to get the ball into Sampson in low, he's tough inside plus he'll pick up fouls. We had chances to pass to him but hesitated. Get him the ball!
