Villanova Game Thread

So lavin essentially recruited one pro and a bunch of busts. Nobody can convince me harrison is a good basketball player. What an awful job. This program is a mess
 
Lavins obsessed with recruiting long and athletic players maybe hell start recruting guys with some actual basketball skillset on offense eventually rather then just athletes..

Hed make a good football recruiter/scout because it seems like all he does when recruiting players is clock 40 times..
 
If this team has any self respect or any balls whatsoever, they win the next five games. These next five are all extremely winnable games. I don't expect it but if they ever want to make themselves somewhat relevant this season they need these next five.

They are winnable games for a team that plays decent basketball. They will be lucky to go 3-2 in that 5 game stretch.
 
It's really not worth watching any games until the Big East Tournament. For this team it won't mean anything until then. According to LAVIN, we'll be good by then. LMFAO!!!
 
I was so hopeful for this season. This is a bad loss and really shows a lack of leadership. Lavin is surely a great recruiter and mentor, but his leadership and coaching skills should be questioned. Trouble is, without Lavin, what do we have? I think we are stuck with him due to this greatly diminished Big East conference. We are now 14 years removed from our last real NCAA run (in 2000, with Barkley and Postell). What big name coach would come here now? To this?

Is lavin really a great recruiter? Most of these kids are busts. Harrison can score all the pts he wants but hes a bad basketball player. Shooting 39% for the season
 
Anyone who ever played basketball understood before the this season started that there was no chemestry with this team and that the members of this team were limited in their basketball abilities.I pointed this out and the Lavin apologists shouted me down.

The point I am attempting to make is that the fans on this site had unrealistic expectations at the beginning of this season as evidenced by the fact that the Big East coaches had StJohns picked 5th in the 10 team league while the posters on this site had StJohns as a NCAA Team.
 
Nova is a better team than last year because of freshman Hart. Hilliard was a bust all day along with Bell but on that mix up with a four point lead he was wide open in the corner and did not hesitate. Bingo three. Game over seven point lead.
Johnnie's played hard but they can't come back when down.
 
Bottom line IMO is that if Pointer missed the bus today, we win. He is so awful at the end of close games. I don't understand why he is allowed to do anything he wants, and I certainly can't comprehend why hasn't learned to play within his ability and defer to others late in games.

1/8 from the floor, 0-1 from three (why?) 4 fouls, ZERO offensive rebounds again, 1 assist to 3 turnovers, 2 steals and 2 blocks.
It's time to move behind Balamou. Balamou at least plays under control and isn't a liability. Pointer is worthless to this team if he isn't hitting the offensive glass. Zero offensive rebounds? Was he too busy spotting up for threes? How can that be possible.

It became clear last year that only one of Garrett and Pointer would prevail. I wish it was Garrett. The kid played with the heart of a lion, showed that he could be a decent shooter in the future, had much more skill, and was very savvy. Dom is out of control at all times and has no skill to speak of.

Hes recruiting solidly as far as "rankings" but hes totally whiffed on most of these guys..He recruits athletes over players with skill it looks like..

Hes whiffed on the 14' class so next year theres no help coming this is gonna get ugly..
 
Refs were awful and our missing layups througout certainly Lavins fault. Green is a ball hog and has yet to pass to Hooper this season. That is Lavins fault.
