By holding out both Branch and Obekpa, Lavin knew we had no chance. It does say a lot that we hung with them for a half, but after our 16-5 start, even from that point they were pulling away.
I do not like Ocheku. Like the last time, he only went off once there was a huge mismatch in his favor.
Saw MJMaher and his travel companion racing in the opposite direction in the corridor after Nova hit 100. Would have stopped him to say hello, but it would have cost him 10 places in line at Genos. He should give me a plus 1 for that alone

No big deal. Team plays better with a sense of urgency. Should have thrown up a zone and let them shoot 25 3 pointers. They will miss a number of those and might have opened up the game so Dom could run a bit. Too much half court offense which we don't excel in. Just beat Providence and look forward to Nova Friday nite !!
We can all criticise this post and picture as much as we want but unfortunately the facts don't lie. That appeared to be the half time adjustment.

Just an observation from going to the game:
We were obviously outmatched. Nova is a very good team and we played with 4 of our 6 players...We may not have beaten Marquette if Obekpa didnt play. I actually think Lavin made the right call in letting him rest. It will be a different story in the BET and I sincerely hope we get a chance to play them again.
As for Villanova, the fact that we pulled our starters before they did is pretty absurd. The fact that we had our walkons on the court when we were down by well more than 20, and he had Archadiacono in the game, and Pinkston checking in at one point was just not classy.
And for their fans, they have easily risen to being my most hated fan base in the big east with uconna and cuse gone. They are obnoxious when they come to MSG, but witnessing them in their home yesterday was really bad. Some of them are downright crude. Not like you dont see some of that stuff at MSG, but a lot of them came across as trashy - and also just listening to their comments from the nova fans around me, they didnt know too much about our team (ie about obekpa and branch being out). i suppose you can chalk some of that up to nova getting bandwagon philly fans.
Had a great cheesesteak at Tony Lukes on the way down though, that was good.

I agree about the fans. Many are dirtbags. Two drunk $&@ kicked glass bottles at me and my wife in the parking lot on our way out after the game. One nearly struck my wife . We were wearing sju sweaters and hats.

This board is getting fkn ridiculous when a moderator jumps onto this anti Lavin trolls bandwagon....aside from putting in CO, we werent going to stop what was already going on the last 5 minutes of the first half. We opened up red hot from the field hitting our first 5 or 6 shots...then 8 out of 10...that's how we opened up an 11 point lead... Any team capable of shooting 80 percent from the field will most likely win a game.. However no team can continue to shoot at such a rate... There was no way with only 4 of our regulars playing that we had a snowballs chance in hell of winning this game. Especially with Dom having an off game.. There were no halftime adjustments to be made and for all any of us know maybe they did talk about adjustments for 19 minutes and he took a piss and threw some gel in his fkn hair the other 1 minute.. Point is, who gives a rats ass besides you people that have such hatred for a man that has revived our dead program... Im really starting to dislike this board...I'm glad a "moderator" can add fuel to the fire... Good job you're doing bud...

Thankfully this isn't a dictatorship that allows the Lavin apologists to determine what is acceptable and not acceptable to post.
There was a 48 point swing in yesterday's game and all Lavin had to show as a change was his hair.
My post was 100% fact with pictures as proof and once again, in a feeble attempt by you to retort, you go and attack another poster because he doesnt think a 48 point swing is acceptable in a division one basketball game.
And I'm glad you're "really starting to hate this board" maybe we can pop you up on OWN (Oprah Winfrey Network) so you can get in touch with your feelings and get over your hatred for this board because Steve Lavin gelled his hair in the middle of our worst loss in 12 yeArs and it was mentioned here.

You clearly have a fixation with Lavin to post as much as you do about him personally. And I agree, you can post what you want as much as you want. Doesn't mean your posts attacking Lavin constantly are not tiresome and a waste of a post on this board. But keep in mind the old, and still relevant, adage, "Better to keep quiet and let people think you are a fool, than open your mouth and remove all doubt."
