UMBC Game

I'll add though, that the team is starting to do a better job getting out on the break. Stith, Lindsey and Greene are pushing straight up and getting to the hoop at east. What we need to develop is that second layer with guys like Harrison, Harkless open for outside shots after dribble penetration. We're one dimensional right now. getting better.

5 players in double figures, Greene with 4 and Sir Dominic has yet to score. Nuri may get a triple double.

Currently up by 18. Lets win nicely with no injuries and prepare for the next game.

I hope they take a hard look at the film and see what happens when you play unselfish basketball. One of the hardest things in this game is knowing what is a good shot and what is a bad shot. Shot selection has been at times a weakness during the first 2 games but today everyone is making the right pass and playing through each other. When you make the extra pass good things will come.

Now up by 24 and Coach has put Jamal White into the game. A great move for multiple reasons. Gift is slowly piling up points and boards.

DeAngelo now with 17 points plus boards , assists and steals. Jamal White has scored.

Dare I say mid season with the additions of Amir Garrett and Jerry Cummings and we might be ok this season with continued improvement.

Correct you are.
Drew Bashen now into the game for SJU. Never heard his name before.

 A few more notes:

- Lindsey had a fantastic game. He's near a triple double. He is a high level PG that only needs to spend hours in the gym shooting. If he can learn to shoot better and improve his form, he'll be extremely tough to stop.

-Good blowout win. We played a bit better overall and happy we did so. Far from a finished product, but a notch better and every inch helps.

-rebounding was better overall as was boxing out. Not great yet but better.

-very active hands today.

Most important stat... 3-0 entering the Arizona game.

Agree on all counts and lets not forget no one got hurt. Unfortunately that will be key all season long. We are an injury away from disaster. Nice to see D'angelo with a big game even though not against the greatest competition. As long as he, Nuri and Phil can keep improving we will be fine this season.

Agree with your breakdown Our outside shoot must get better Think from what I saw in the 1st 3 games Every team overall had better outside shooting But our guy play to their strength Good improvement Lets hoprthey up their game against better comp GG looking good at he foul line

They seem to catch a rest when we're in man. I think Lavs is beginning to believe in it too. Good to be good at both. Even Stith was in the flow. Fun workout for the boys.

Did anyone confirm if the game is on SNY tomorrow? They dont have the STJ game listed on SNY tomorrow

It's not. 2nd time this year its been pulled from SNY prior to game.
ESPN3 tomorrow.

Watched tge game on the pc Sound was a bit low but couls hear it . Go it by goole espne

Nice W. Good D, active hands, well balanced scoring, improved free throws{gift unbelievable}. Need to improve outside game.

Balanced attack. Nobody lit it up but everyone played solid. I thought Stith had a good game.

GG from the line is just money. If we get in close games i want him catching inbounds passes just to get him at the line

It was defnitely gam eover once we went to a man in the 2nd hald and UMBC couldn't handle the pressure. Our bigs handle the ball well on the break. Showed a lot of unselfishness in the 2nd half. D'Angelo came out shooting mostly blanks to start the game, but settled down. If all guys in the rotation learn to love to pass, eventually we could see the ball move the way it did with the Artest team. All in all, the weakest team we've played in the regular season, but it appeared that on offense the team is starting to click a little better. GG is fun to watch down low, and this team could be a team thats gets the ball upcourt in a hurry.

 - I think the man defense helps our kids at times to "reset" and avoid confusion this early in their career. It iss good to use on occasion, but I have zero doubt we'll be pushing zones heavily.

- Outside shooting hasn't been great, but I mean I think we had our walkon turned scholarship player thinking he was Larry bird out there. Overal, the guys that are going to be hitting treys are Harrison, Greene and Harkless. Remember we're playing with a little more than half the scholarship players of most D1 teams, and our only "shooters" are freshmen. VERy few great Hs shooters ready to come in after 3 weeks of practice hitting a high percentage. The only thing that will help our shooting is time, practice and more scholarship players.

-fwiw, I think Harrison has an excellent shooting stroke and within the next 2 years will be one of the most dangerous shooters in college ball. He has a lot to learn, but his quick release is amazing and when he learns the college game more, he'll be very good.

- mo is excellent, but in time needs to learn that he's better than most of the defenders guarding him. Can't wait to see him learn to create space and either hit threes. The face of his opponent or driving on them. Like Dunlap said, he still doesn't know how good he is or how good he can be.

who ? What? I hope he can hit a jump shot
