Two things

i swear to god reading this board sometimes is like reading a anyi SJU board, maybe im one of the few
but i love the direction of the PROGRAM, yes this season has had some real down turns but there is
improvement in chemistry!! i really think dunlop is the missing piece and or someone like him, i hope
we find someone like him soon......i really do see us getting both jordan and lawrence!!! harrison and jakarr
are not going to go anywhere!!

Thats great that you love the direction of the program.
There are others that are skeptics and are speaking their peace in a civil way for the most part.

Your 'gut' feeling is getting Jordan and Lawrence?

So lets recap then-

Obekpa
Gift
Karr
Lawrence
Amir
Dom
Harrison
Jordan
Branch
Greene

Marco
Max
Jones
Felix

That equals 14. One of the NCAA limit of 13. So who is leaving and don't say Max will walkon. Next issue that is 13 players. Who is getting the shaft on minutes? Right now we are only running 7 for the most part. Next issue and the biggest one of all that I might make my signature on all posts.

5 spots, 200 minutes, 1 ball.

Pretty easy to identify the weaklings: Garrett, Greene, Pointer, etc. they get the shaft and Lawrence, Jordan, Gift get more playing time. If that 2nd group can score well offensively then great. If not, tinker.

But then we are again the youngest team in America again if our 3 juniors don't see the light of day.

Gift isn't a starter next year, and in my opinion won't even be part of the regular rotation. His value and productivity are taking on mythic proportions the more he sits . I've been avoiding saying this directly, but with all respect to the man personally, he is not a very skilled basketball player on the court. Period.

You don't know if he improves with another year of ball considering he's still new to the game. But judging by the growth or lack thereof of some of our other guys I'm not holding my breath.

I'm also still not entirely convinced that Gift doesn't graduate and transfer at the end of the year.
That concept is pretty far outside the box, I know, but I still think its plausible,

Perhaps if Gift plays power forward instead of center (Obekpa at C), he will show more in the way of rebounds. More fitting for his size and he would be physically strong enough for the PF spot as opposed to a bit to small for center.
Just an observation. Whatever, given his high character, and enough ability to contribute, I want him on our team next year. Game changer-no-contributor-yes.

coach lav is going nowhere guys.....lets start there!! we are the youngest team in the COUNTRY!!!

http://www.texassports.com/sports/m-baskbl/mtt/tex-m-baskbl-mtt.html

They have 2 Seniors and are 8-7. What's the point of your link? To show that a team that is slightly older is playing worse? There are plenty of examples of that this year.

Um look at stats. The SR's don't play a lick. They are younger than us by class.

Our Junior doesn't play and our Senior is red shirting. Their record is worse than ours and the only team they've beaten is a non-ranked UNC team that has underperformed. What is your point?

You are correct in that they are actually a younger team! Good analysis.
Lavin tried to keep us "nationally ranked" .........as the youngest team by redshirting God's Gift and flubbing the paperwork for Sanchez but it is backfiring! LOL!

I'm sorry, I didn't think I needed to break this one down for you. Is Texas playing at a level that you'd be happy with? They've beaten a now unranked UNC team and lost to Chaminade. Given the war path you've been on lately, I can't see those "accomplishments" making you feel good about that team.

As for your other asinine comments, do you really believe Coach is sitting Gift so he has a built in excuse? Unbelievable !!!

My point is they are younger than us. Contrary to what STJ has been telling everyone all year. That is a fact. That is what I said a few games ago and Gonzalo posted to remind the congregation.

Do you think we would have knocked off UNC? I don't.

Playing UNC at home like Texas did, I'd give us a shot on one of our better days. Many didn't think we'd beat Cincy either. Regardless, I don't see many on this board being happy about Texas' accomplishments this year if they were our team. Not given the amount of negative reactions on here lately. You'd think we were 2-13.
