Look, I think this thing can get blown out of proportion, with even Jordan getting caught up in it himself. Why are we off to a very good (not great) start so far? Because Lavin is playing the guys who are playing well, with no preconceived bias towards highly regarded guy, including Jordan. The result? Pointer is having his best season so far, and is getting the minutes to justify it. Greene has had his moments, especially at Syracuse, where he hits shots in big moments. Harrison has taken on the load of rebounding guard, because with a 3 guard offense, we need rebounds. Jordan has gotten off to a shaky start, but if we are going to go far, if we are going to have a successful Big East campaign, he will be heard from in a very positive way. So thankfully, his miserable play so far has taken him off the court, but the moment he shows what he is capable of, minutes will return in abundance. You play well you play, you play poorly, you sit - it's a prescription for winning basketball, and kudos to Lavin for enforcing this for everyone - even his most talented player.
Uh... He hasn't played in a "miserable" .. that's going way too far; and I think out of line.
Jordan has been great on defense. He creates turnovers. He had a bunch of turnovers early on but he's cut those down.
His shot has has been on and off - which you can pretty much say about every player, other than Harrison, on this team.
So why call is miserable?
But I agree on your later point, he is needed, and needed badly, if this good team play is going to continue into Big East play and the NCAAs.
