Transfers

Eligible as a grad next year? Couldn't get run but on same pretty good teams in Louisville and Gonzaga. Hard being a big and earning minutes in Spokane this year.

Former SH player;

@jeffborzello: Aaron Cosby is leaving the Illinois basketball team, the school announces. He will graduate and then transfer after the semester.

Could this have an impact on LoVett? It seems like it's between SJU and Illinois

He is leaving Illinois. LoVett may not qualify.

BTW, what gives you the impression he is coming to St. John's as opposed to Iowa state? He is a poor man's Phil Greene imo.

I know he's leaving. A guard leaving will allow more playing time for him to come in and get.

My impression has come from the Zags article with the quotes from his father. And LoVett is a poor mans Phil Greene? I think you need to watch some more video. LoVett is a great handling point guard that can beat his man off the dribble. PGIV is a spot up shooter.

The "subject" was Aaron Cosby not LoVett. Cosby was my reference. He is a sporadic shooter and would be a 6th man even on next year's young team.

Gotcha. And I was referring to LoVett being between Illinois ane SJU, not Cosby.

Would Cosby be eligible to play in the Big East since he originally started with the Hall?

Not technically a transfer, but will post here. Jones was JC AA last year. Bet he goes overseas route;

@TheRecruitScoop: Louisville announces point guard Chris Jones has been dismissed from the program.

Jeez. Louisville is gonna be a great matchup for an 11, 12, or 13 seed first round. Not many scoring options and just lost one of them

Plus w/o Jones they won't be able to press as much.

Jones will be out of eligibility as he played two years in JUCO and this was his second year playing at the Ville.

That is basically what Pitino said. He said jones could get it together or enjoy playing in Belgium.

From an article I just read, "Here's a way to put those secondary scoring woes in perspective: From the final eight minutes of the Cardinals' win over North Carolina on Jan. 31 to the first two minutes of their win over Pittsburgh on Feb. 11, no one outside of Jones, Harrell, Rozier or Wayne Blackshear scored a single point. That's a stretch of nearly 90 minutes of game time with only four players scoring, which is almost unfathomable given that there are five players on the court of a basketball game at a time, and that Louisville goes about eight-to-nine-deep with its roster".

What was the deal with Rasheed Sulaimon? Was it losing time to freshmen? Could he be an option here. Does he have a connection with Branch and D-Lo?

I remember the kid hitting big shot after big shot in Duke's game at Syracuse last year.
He is a very good shooter.

@NYPost_Brazille: Heard St. John's has expressed interest in Iowa transfer Trey Dickerson, a point guard originally from Queens. #sjubb
