Transfers SJU May Get Involved With

Brooklyn 2017 forward Isaac Kante took second visit in as many weeks to St. John's over weekend. #sjubb

I welcome the newest recruit, Mr. Dixon. I was really hoping for someone over 6'2". Some like 6'10". Isaac Kante seems like a lock given the Paultzman avitar. I am worried about Isaac's 2* ranking. Really need an immediately eligible
transfer BIG, if the program is going to show continued improvement.

I think Kante will be a good 4 year player. But, I too would like to see a quality grad transfer big. And I get the feeling we are not getting one.

Tea leaves at this point seem to indicate you are correct.

I will wait to see what happens. However, Richard I fear you are correct. If so, this is a notable failure by the staff. This needs to be a priority, no excuses. I think we could make a run at making the Tournament with the help of a decent experienced big. Gotta be one out there somewhere?

One would think with the opportunity of significant playing time for a team In a top league with post season hopes some decent big with immediate eligiblity would bite.
If the answer is no is there any other option for SJU to fill this need? Can they fall back to Italy at this late date? What about a JUCO?

If tea leaves are correct, this is really disappointing, bordering on unfathomable. I know nothing about Kante, but would be surprised if he is ready to consistently contribute at this point. With a front court consisting of Yakwe, Owens and an unheralded freshman, I don't see us well-positioned to make a run at the tournament.

Clark will be a big help playing the 4. What concerns me is Owens cant play 20 minutes without fouling out and Yakwe didn't improve. We really need another quality center for next year.

I thought Clark was more of a hybrid 3. We desperately need a banger who can score some garbage points.

This would be a major disappointment. Not sure how we let Williams walk out the door. After Owens, it will be Yakwe and freshmen.

Can't blame the fan base for little patience with lack of rebounding next year. By the way, at MSU, Clark played on the perimeter a heck of a lot. I wouldn't expect him to be a post-up/banger type.

Would love to land this kid. 4-star PF that had offers from zone, Kansas and others. I'd love both he and Kante.

Define a heckuva lot. He had the 3rd best rebs per min on Michigan State his second year there and took less than 1 3 per game. Yes, he has an all around type game for a 3/4 type hybrid player but he doesn't play like a pure wing. I just get the feeling he'll do what needs to be done.

MCNPA, Any idea if he has offers from some big schools and is a 4 star as to why he is still uncommitted? Also, I wonder why we weren't involved earlier? It just sounds like maybe we are throwing things out there hoping someone will bite. Not the worst thing as long as we are throwing at a big who can help us next year.
