Jones and Curbelo have used their one time transfer. If they want to play college ball next year. It has to be at Saint John’s
That's just disgusting . Talking of someone's physical condition. Disgusting I agreeOf all your dumb posts lately this is by far the dumbest. Show a little class; fake it if you have to.
Wel maybe you should stop then. Karma is a wonderful thingI make fun of everyone. Was a joke.
Grown men on here bashing kids. Millionaire coach fair game, but I admire your indignation.
Pitino can definitely get more out of them than Anderson. I believe Jones will buy in. But will Curbelo?A big factor in getting a waiver to play right away has been the prior schools support for the transfer. If it is a "forced" transfer then I'm sure SJU would help get them a waiver.
As was Eli Wright who never suited up for him and LJ left a year later. Will be interesting to see if any show up to the press conference. Remember at CMA's press conference, Heron and Figueroa were there.
I was and yes Grad Transfers can get them pretty easily.Too lazy to look but pretty sure Fordham was talking about Quinn Slazinski needing to get waiver.
Agree on Bronny, but that would be pretty crazy if by chance he wound up here. If that were to happen, may as well play every game at MSG, since they'll all be sell outs or close. Though the question will be; who's coaching Bronny, Rick or Dad?I imagine most players have signed NILs by now so that might be tough except at schools with coaching changes where they might grant a release. Was perusing 247 and the only top 100 player still available is Bronny. I wouldn't want that circus in my town, just saying. Texas has a couple guys in the top 20 but remains to be seen if Beard leaving will have any impact. Terry was probably part of their consideration process and I think he'll keep the job. Probably gonna be all about the portal and improving what's already on the roster in year 1.
Year 2. Hubert gets fired and he gets Ian Jackson and Cadeau.![]()
I like Clayton but before try to raid Iona roster, they got spanked by UConn and we played them tough both times with far inferior coach.Clayton Jr. would not need a waiver. He committed to Iona out of high school. So, he can use the one-time transfer and play immediately. I don't know if he comes here, but I do not see him staying at Iona. He's an excellent player.
So James will finally play home games at the Garden?Agree on Bronny, but that would be pretty crazy if by chance he wound up here. If that were to happen, may as well play every game at MSG, since they'll all be sell outs or close. Though the question will be; who's coaching Bronny, Rick or Dad?
I see Posh as a solid part of a 3 man backcourt. He could play some PG and some 2G depending on the situation. He could start or come off the bench as one of those instant spark kind of kids. I see Wusu in that same role coming off the bench to provide a jolt of energy. I am totally confident that Rick will figure out how to make it work.Really like posh but This might be unpopular opinion but Clayton is better and would welcome him here in a second to be given the keys to run the program. Would love if we can get him and keep posh.
Why is everyone using the words "raid" and "raiding". Pitino ain't "raiding" the Iona roster. Maybe one or two kids wind up here. Kids who would likely be transferring out and up anyway. But that is hardly "raiding" the Iona roster.I like Clayton but before try to raid Iona roster, they got spanked by UConn and we played them tough both times with far inferior coach.
I don’t see it. With Pitino, it is defense first.Honestly Curbelo more of Pitino guard than posh
But again unlike the last whatever years have all the confidence the coach will figure out what fits his system best.
Curbelo for all his issues was not a bad on ball defender last year. Was right there with posh and wusu as being the most disruptive guy on the team. He’s got plenty of ability there. Off the ball… that’s a different story.I don’t see it. With Pitino, it is defense first.
No way is Curbelo better or exerts more effort on defense than Posh.
Sure Posh may have his limitations, but an under Pitino, he will be put in the best positions to succeed. And I am not betting against Posh.
I like Posh better and Curbelo makes everyone nervous. Everywhere Pitino has been he has had his point guard as a scoring option.I don’t see it. With Pitino, it is defense first.

But Curbelo did not bring in every game. He was inconsistent (to be kind).Curbelo for all his issues was not a bad on ball defender last year. Was right there with posh and wusu as being the most disruptive guy on the team. He’s got plenty of ability there. Off the ball… that’s a different story.
The only way that I see Posh and Curbelo working is as part of a 3 man rotation, where they are rarely on the court together. And even at that, I still think that they have too many of the same strengths and weaknesses. Plus having 2 very small, non shooting guards, logging a lot of minutes doesn't really make sense. IMO Curbelo will be gone and Rick will bring in another guard who can better compliment Posh. But Curbelo did not bring in every game. He was inconsistent (to be kind).
The old adage that defense never slumps holds true. It is all about effort. I am not kicking Curbelo off the team. If Pitino can bring the best out of Curbelo, that would be great.
My issue are the knocks on Posh. I’ve used it before, because I think it is best way to describe him: an alpha dog. I want players like him on my team.
