For our sake, I’d love him to stay where he is and have a healthy flow of players to and from.

No way he holds on to guys like Toppin and Dent and you’d have to imagine there is significant overlap between Junior and Senior’s systems and coaching styles that would make the transition easier.
 
BTW-Pitino just said he expects 4-5 players back. So RJ, Taylor, Sim, Dunlap, Zuby would be the ideal situation.

That would be terrific core, add Glover, Maker and the Greek kid.

I would guess another prep kid or 2 as kids open up after coaching changes or other changes occur (eg High School player X signed with School Y just found out School Y just got a high profile immediately eligible transfer at the same position...)

And then 3-4 high level Portal kids.

I know that there are some naysayers when it comes to Luis but he is the one I want most back. If he gets himself healthy he has star written all over him. But if looks can tell a story, after his press conference with Pitino, he didn’t looked thrilled at all at a time he should have been. I could be wrong here but with other programs who I’m sure are in his ear promising a starting position and big money, and his inconsistent playing/starting time here, I don’t have a great feeling about him returning.

I hope I’m dead wrong about this as I’d hate to see him starting and starting for another team, especially a rival.

In terms of those returning, the 4 or 5 could also include Drissa, Ayo and Davis which if they were part of the returning group would be concerning.

I want RJ playing 30 mpg next year. He is an absolute thoroughbred - that needs a bit of help with his decision making. Can def see a program offering his camp high 6figures that Pitino and co. won't match...

Think he will be offered a significant raise in NIL... enough to keep him... we'll see.

No inside info, just thinking out loud. Ryan Dunn just made 2nd team all ACC defense on VA. Sophomore, 6ft 8, from LI.
