Love Pope’s offensive game but his defense is a big issue for me. Not only is he going to have to come a long way, but you will need to add a true stopper in the backcourt if you take him.

It would be surprising given Pitino's comments re: "no one knows how to play defense".... that we don't bring in a Defense-minded guard...

But- we will be losing A LOT of offensive production... so...

Just go get a Giant Rim Protector- we'll be fine lol

Anyone know the deal with CJ Wilcher's February? Pretty putrid. In 8 games/18 minutes per game, 31% FG, 24% 3pt on 4 attempts per game.

His absolute peak seems to be 8 ppg in a major conference. If there is interest in the staff keeping Wilcher happy by bringing in his brother, C.J. and family need to realize that if it's minutes and stats he wants, a different team is what he should be looking for. Don't think there's space if we manage to keep Taylor and Luis though.

Could use another depth piece and CJ being a 5th year guy that can shoot would be a great fit. As you said, if he wants to play 25 mins a game he should go elsewhere because if he’s getting burn like that here we’d be in trouble

I hope we keep all of Taylor, Luis , zuby, drissa, Dunlap & wilcher. If Ayo & Davis look elsewhere, it creates more schollys.
But now with NIL, not really limited

Dent and Toppin for New Mexico are ridiculous. Toppin is an NBA player. No way they stay there next year.

I think Rick needs to talk to his son about making arrangements for Dent and Toppin if (when) they hit the portal. A soph and a frosh with all Big East ability right out of the gate. I’d draft and stash Toppin this draft if I was a GM.

Dent in the lane is something else and he didn’t even have a great game statistically last night. He’s going to be a killer in March if he puts on some muscle the next few years.

We send them Cruz Davis and future considerations.
