Transfer Portal Mania

Xavier Booker starting to get more minutes for MSU but some higher profile Twitter accounts seem dumbfounded that he's not getting more. His ceiling is so high and he's supposedly already gained 20 much needed pounds since the start of the season. I wouldn't mind a Booker/Zuby duo at the 5 for the next couple seasons

Didn't see the game but judging by tweets I saw, Ohio State was afraid to go inside when he was in the game.

Yep, Deibler basically said as much in the postgame presser too.

Then there was this where an MSU reporter asked Booker about not playing most of the 2nd half. You can tell he's unhappy. Izzo will probably play him more going forward but hopefully he's already out the door. I'm mentally all in on this kid.

you don't have to be even mentally on him. :) It's all about $ but over a month ago I had no clue who he even was ( not surprising I barely remember screen names. lol ) but he was heavily mentioned behind the scenes. BUT it's the Wild West of NIL now but he is definitely in the top 3 names for front court as of mid January

Key is to land kids out the gate. This transfer anytime thing screws so much up we were looking at kids who you could get extra time from but that philosophy is out the window now too

class of 72 made a cogent argument for the demise of college basketball and I'm always behind the curve on stuff like this I'd argue supply demand there are only so many schools paying the rest have to go somewhere the unfortunate thing like he said is the breakout kid is most likely leaving to get paid

For those that care about this stuff - Jordan Pope putting on an offensive show in the first half against Oregon on FS1. He's playing predominantly on the ball and there's not much movement in their offense but Pope is hitting a bunch of tough shots from all 3 levels in iso situations so he can definitely create his own shot and score from anywhere on the floor. He's also passing up some decent looks to get his teammates involved when he probably shouldn't because they're terrible. Good passer out of ball screens too. Can't tell much of anything on him defensively since Oregon State has exclusively been playing a zone.

He'll definitely be very sought after and will come with an expensive price tag.

What number does he want? 😇

I think he's a point-forward as well, but he's John Stockton compared to what we have now and can definitely play Pitino's style. I don't get the sense that he doesn't pay nice with others. SH shares the ball a lot.

I'd prefer a Zakai Zeigler type alongside Sim or a combo guard that can play nice with others like Walter Clayton.
He takes just as many shots per minute as Jenkins with 30 fewer assists and 15 more turnovers. Based on your hatred of Jenkins, you would lose your mind with Kadary.

Matt A right now...

For those not liking getting a player from a lower level conference let alone from a non D1 team how about whatformer D2 player and DePaul Blue Demon Max Struss did last night for the Miami Heat. He hit five 3s in the last 4 minutes including a buzzer beater from half court to beat the Dallas Mavericks.
