THIS Season (formerly Next Season)

It's way to early and lots of kids will be on the move. Will Cal move on to the Lakers? Hoiberg to the Bulls? There will be kids moving around. Cal wins it all Briscoe will beg to come back!

With all of these transfers being announced, giving up on next season is silly right now. There are still good options out there for a new coach to pick from.

Hopefully but transfers have to sit out a year

I am also taking about some of the 5th year kids and the ones with a sick goldfish at home.
They are good to fill a hole on a team, almost always just one on a team. Should not be relying on one year eligible players to fill multiple holes as our roster appears to need.

I thought Joey was done.

I thought paultz said he had one more year
it appears so, but who knows?

He was not mentioned in the Georgetown game.

Prior to the contest, St. John's (20-9, 9-7) honored its five-member senior class and team managers in their final regular-season contest at The Garden. Branch, Greene IV, Pointer, Khadim Ndiaye and D'Angelo Harrison were celebrated for their achievements on and off the court over the last four years.

When he arrived their were questions of how many years but most thought one.

My thoughts or predictions for next year are going to be from a perspective of the glass half full or as some or a lot of posters on this site Rose Colored glasses.

1. I think Rysheed comes back and has a great year and is in the running for Player of the year in the Big East.

2. Amar is a key player for us. For me you can see the Talent is there. Great form on his shot he just needs confidence. He could be the most improved player in the Big East next year.

3 Brandon Sampson plays well and is in the running for Rookie of the year with another St. John's FR. named Cheick Diallo.

4 ADR provides solid minutes off the bench.

5. Jay Henderson makes a solid contribution as a 6th man.

6. I am not making any comments about Chis O for next year. Still so disappointed in his actions that cost the SR's. a shot at making some memories in the NCAA.

All are plausible and very solid points. Except for #5. If Henderson is the team's sixth man, it will be a long year, imo.

If Sheed & CO leave and Sampson goes elsewhere, is next year, even with a great coach signed, a non-post season team?

We would be like DePaul, only worse.

Let's get a coach and roster assembled before we write the 2015-2016 season's obituary.

I know this much, there will be at least five players not currently available that will come available and immediately eligible between now and when school starts that would be able to make a huge impact at St. John's.

There are also several available players and transfers right now.

The argument has been to get a coach with NYC ties, well 2016 247 recruiting has only two NYC area kids in top 50 and 3 in top 75 if you include NJ. NC has double the amount of kids through top 100. Why do you want a local guy?

Under BE bylaws, is it possible for us to take a leave of absence next season? If so, let's do it.

Interesting, can you name two?

How quickly things have changed. We went from wondering whether we could field a team, to having a plethora of transfer, Juco and high school options. It now has me thinking about how we will distribute our 13 scholarships.

Since we don't know who Mullin & Co. will bring in, I thought about who (on our current roster) is scholarship-worthy. He is my opinion......

Yes -Scholarship
Jordan
Obekpa
Alibegovic
ADR
Balamou
Henderson

No -No Scholarship
Stewart
Jones
JDR
Libscomb

If we went with this, that would leave 7 open scholarships. Of course, we have one LOI (Doughty) and one verbal (Barnes). Not sure if Barnes-Thompkins will be here.

Henderson ahead of Stewart?
