Things that bugged me about today's Syracuse Game

Really ticked.

1) The Garden was about 70% Syracuse - all in orange. Come on guys - some of these SU fans travelled 300 miles to go to this game. Sickening to be way outnumbere din our own building.

2) My section - 109 - is a season ticket holders section. It also was overwhelmingly orange. I could care less about how much you sold you tickets for on Stubhub, but if you did, you suck - period. You helped in a small way to give SU another home game. I don't blame people from Syracuse form wanting to visit NYC - we are in the greatest city in the world - but come here to visit a museum, not because you can take over the Garden for the day.

3) Seeing some Orange in our student section. At $99 a season ticket, it is a PRIVILEGE to sit in great seats behind the basket. To see SU fans in the first effing row under the baskets means you sold your seat for $300 plus. You know who you are, and you suck also. You'd probably sell your sister or mother for a few hundred bucks if you could.

4) Those f'ing Syracuse fans. Come on you morons - starting a "Let's go Orange chant" when you are up by 25 points is way uncool. The game was over, you are whipping a six man team of first year pleyers with an undersized front line, and you are acting like its nip and tuck against Kentucky. F' all of you SU losers.

In some ways it was a going away party. Outside of the BET, this is the last time we play Syracuse at MSG in a league game. I'll miss the rivalry, bu their fans kicked our fans asses way more than their team kicked our teams ass. And some of those lazy asses post here - some of you claim to have season tix but don't.

On the plus side, thank you to the student who brought a "3-angelo" sign to the game. I'm copyrighting that nickname.

I agree with your whole post pretty much. I figured 75/25 Cuse to STJ. But do you really think these ppl traveled for this team? Most are from the area. Cuse grads are all over the city. No question STJ fans sold tickets. I know the ppl behind the basket you mentioned and 3 Cuse fans behind STJ bench too!!!!!

Just let this damn team go away and I hope Monasch stands up and does not schedule them in the future.

I know most SU fans today are from the area, but some did travel. There was a 6 year old kid next to me creaming for Syraucse the whole game. His mom was really nice, and tried to quiet him down a little, and smiled and said to me, "It's his first live basketball game." I smiled back - they were a nice family, but they didn't belong next to me in an SJU season ticket holder section.

I loved this rivalry all these years, and I agree with you totally. They left the greatest basketball conference on earth filled with the best regional rivlaries for a few bucks. I hope they lose their local identity the way BC lost theirs. I wouldn't schedule them ever again. F' them, and I'd also cancel any Big East-ACC challenge series.

You know that won't happen. As Boeheim has indicated they have been playing St.John's and Georgetown for 100 years and intend on keeping us on their schedule. Even though, I don't appreciate the lowly Cuse crowd at the garden I want a chance to pummel these lowlifes.

And don't forget whining Jim playing the refs for a good no-call from the opening minute. If his sins catch up to him in the afterlife, no doubt his punishment will involve looking at his whining face in a mirror for all eternity.

Two way street. Yeah we've been playing for years but its time Monasch takes a stand and I hope Gtown AD does as well. If it was AD at either school its what I would do. I still think Boeheim never coaches a game in the ACC.

Nothing bothers me more than seeing season ticket holders get the shaft. I'm in 108 and I had Cuse fans around me. I don't get why there always seem to be opposing fans there. It doesnt add up. I can't help be skeptical on how tickets are handled.

There were some St. John's students in front of us today (or so we thought) who came in a group of about 5 or 6, all wearing red and ready to root for us so it seemed. A few minutes into the game one of the so-called St. John's student takes off his red STJ shirt and throws it on the chair to reveal his orange SU t-shirt. Someone asked him about & one if the guys still wearing red said that they needed to do that so he could get into the student section with them. They brought SU fans with them disguised as STJ fans until they got to their seats. Unreal

The whole experience today was humiliating. First of all, we almost had a fight with some fing Cuse fans that fused to sit down at the start of the game till their team hit a field goal. What's it a fing Syracuse home game? Their fans are obnoxious pieces of dog fieces. And when the Cuse had their dunk a thon going towards the end of the game, some of the Cuse fans near us turned around to put it in our faces. How fing humiliating. This was our home game. Where are the alumni, 15000 undergrads etc. I am too old to get in a physical altercation with these a$$ holes so I had to leave before the end of the game to avoid one.

When I was out at half time in the corridoor all I saw was orange.... What a disgrace Was almost embarrassed to be a fan today and not due to us getting hammered.

Can't agree with you more. It was a complete embarassment and I am not talking about what happened on the court. Any season ticket holder who sold his ticket to a Syracuse fan or to some entity that they knew would sell the ticket to a Syracuse fan, should be ashamed of themselves.

Security confiscated about 4 signs from the student section 5 minutes into the game. Security told my friend who was holding the Jim, You Knew" sign that they were taking them under the order of Chris Monasch, who thought they were personal attacks. The signs taken were "Jim, You Knew," "Every Syracuse Player Nailed laurie," and "Accepting Cowards like Cuse since 1953." Censorship at its best.

I just got home from the game and totally agree with what's being said here. The noise in the Garden was deafening at times and it was all coming from the SU fans. My section 119 (which I thought was all season tickets) was 50% Orange. Of course they had a lot to cheer about, they have a great team, but where are our fans?

I'm afraid we'll have the same thing on tghe 25th against N.D.

We'll schedule them again, the place was sold out and money talks, as it should in this case.

Kudos to the students who arranged the pictures of Fine's wife behind the basket when the SU guys went to the line.

Nah this will be the only game like that. ND isn't bad and their fans are pretty much mute.

LETS FACE IT,ST.JOHN'S WAS ALWAYS A WORKING MAN'S SCHOOL AND $300 A TICKET IS NOT IN THERE BUDGET.THE STUDENT AT ST. JOHN'S WILL GRADUATE AND BE A BETTER MAN THE SPOIL KID FROM SYRACUSE .IT IS MORE IMPORTANT FOR THE STUDENT TO REALIZE THE IMPORTANCE OF FAITH,TRADITION,AND THE VALUES TAUGHT AT ST. JOHN'S.I COULD SAY MORE BUT JUST LOOK AT THE LAST PLAY ANDTHAT'S SYRACUSE,THEY NEED TO WIN. WE WIN JUST BY THAT COMPARISON

Agreed but...I am coming up from Philly (where I live) to go Wednesday night vs. Cincy. To come up THIS YEAR when we have virtually no chance of even being competitive with them didn't make sense to me. Great seat for 50 bux on Wednesday night in a competitive game just makes more sense to me.

Next year will be a different story.

And what was the deal with at 0.8 seconds left in the game when the SU guy grabbed the ball from Greene? Someone shoild have decked him, or at least he should have gotten a T

I am with you and was just going to open up a thread titled "St. John's fans/season ticket holders should be ashamed"...I think the crowd was more like 80/20 and I am sickened that so many SJ season ticket holders dumped their tickets rather than go to the game...I had an extra ticket but would rather rip it up than sell it to a Syracuse fan so it went unused...call me stupid but I wasn't paying my mortgage with the $s I would have made on the ticket.

it played out most exactly how I though it Would. Actually it was better than last yrs blow out or the year befores or before that. In fact I cant remember the last time we had a competitive game vs them. I did enjoy watching them stand for 4 minutes at the beginning. Then they were pretty quiet until those back to back dunks which were pretty sick. This is the toughest match up for our guys of all the Big East teams. We didnt give up and they will bring it on Wednesday I am sure. Cuse will get theirs. Good luck in ACC with BC. They have done so well since their move.

best post ever by moose. Do not schedule them any more. They want to recruit NYC and play in the South. Let them go recruit against Duke and UNC in Carolina and Florida. Syracuse wants to play the games in the Garden and tell recruits they play in the Northeast.

We had a competitive game against them in the BE tourny last year.
