The Transfer Portal (in general)

Tyree Ihenacho, one of the first names we kicked the tires on, is going from North Dakota to James Madison.

Hopefully I'm not imagining it. I think it was a very brief kicking./media/kunena/emoticons/grin.png

SMH,  coaches are literally going to have to recruit their players that are on campus every single day.

We'll see more situations like this.  Greg Williams dad said it best, kids are entering the portal to see their worth.  They enter 1 time don't get interest from the schools they want, so they pull out, then some schools miss out on higher targets and reach out to the kid's handlers and tell him if he goes back in they'll be interested now.  It's a mess.

Goodie brought up a good point. The new rule is not clear yet on kids who already got a waiver previously.

In other words kids like Rasheem Dunn, James Akinjo, Charlie Moore. All 3 were given waivers in previous transfers thus allowing them immediate eligibility.  So will they be allowed to transfer this time and qualify for the 1 time free transfer with no sit year?  Charlie Moore in particular is going into his SIXTH year of college. Would they let him sit a year and play in his SEVENTH year of college?

Got to believe the answer is yes. This is a new rule granted a one time waiver without needing a reason to allow it. Prior transfers required the waiver to be granted for a "valid" reason however flimsy the NCAA may have allowed.

For pre-game introductions he will be announced as Dr. Charlie Moore

If you already have transferred before this season, you need a waiver to be eligible next year unless you are graduating this year.

They have had a rough off season with key departures and were quiet on the transfer front.

This is a nice pick up.  Will step in an start IMHO.  But even with this pick up and after a nice 2 year run I think they will take a step back this coming season.

Hyatt to Rutgers, according to Rothstein.

Familiar name & bust, will be moving Marcellus in San Diego

J'Raan Brooks will be transferring to UCSD. Had a high of 8 points this season.

Just one more example of high school rankings not always being a good predictor of college success.
