The NCAA Tournament Thread

NCAA committee chairmen on St. Johns
"When you start talking about St. John’s, they were 4-10 in Quad 1,” "
Lets look at Virginia quad 1 record - 2 - 8 = even if they had 10 quad 1 games that and won 2 more thats 4 - 10

"They had seven opportunities at the Top 3 teams from the Big East and went just 1-6"
Virginia - 1 win over a top 25 same as St. Johns

So why Virginia of St. Johns or Seton Hall?

What am I missing?

He basically said Seton Hall's win over uconn doesnt count cause clingon was hurt! Article shows without clingon they were #12 in the country during those games and didnt lose.

Im not just mad about SJU but the hall and providence?

How come this is happening without outrage other then Pitino. I dont hear Shaheen or providence causing a fit

even Dick Vitale who I cant stand and pays no mind to big east things its outrageous.. Im glad virginia lost the way they did, its a big middle finger to Charles

Here is his email address b.ford@swac.org. I say we flood his email with complaints. especially virginia over seton hall?
You are looking for a guiding principle based on logic. It's fruitless. Their guiding principle was "screw the non-football league"

If you added Va to the BE it would be a 12 team league and thus they would finish ahead of Georgetown and DePaul, which would be 10th.

If you'd like data then consider that Virginia was 300 something in offense this season and got blown out by 20+ six times - while playing in the fifth best conference in the country. Name a BE team other than DePaul that was that bad.
Good point about the 12 team league. I'm not good at math. Your second point helps support my argument which is that even though Virginia stinks, they remarkably have one of the best home court advantages in the country. NONE of the 6 20+ defeats you tell of was at home. Did I mention that awful team you saw last night had the longest home winning streak in the country which ran till near the end of THIS season in which you feel they would have been 10th in a 12 team BE.

Just change your name to carmineaccatielo already.

Ahhh I promised myself I was boycotting this year but of course had to flip on Boise state for the johnnies angle. My sole exercise these last 25 years has been watching ex johnnies advance in tourney.

In any event I really do like Omar - seemed like awesome dude but man he looking pretty mangy tonight. Not sure he would get even traroe minutes on our squad this year. In any event Glad he found right level and is thriving and has one more year to boot.

Would have loved to have seen Omar’s drive fall there with a minute left. Lampkin is a tough matchup.

I like good ol Omar but happy to have Boise state bounced. I want each one of these mid mountain west teams systematically picked off now one by one (now that Colorado state has done its job in demonstrating UVA a fraud).

I guess there is a lot more hate watching than I thought to be had here.

Can't argue with that

Winner: uconn
1st one seed eliminated: purdue
Sleeper pick: kentucky
10 seed or lower in the elite 8: none
Biggest disappointment from a blue blood: Kansas squeak by Stamford only to lose to the zags or mcneese state.
Popular upset pick that ain’t gonna happen: Oregon will lose to S. CAROLINA
Popular upset pick that is going to happen: Grand Canyon beats saint mary (also UAB beats SDSt).
Highest seed in the final 4: a three seed

Number 1 Selection Committee Chairman who won’t be remembered by the end of the Tournament : Dr Charles McClelland .

Not sure if this was already posted here.

Great idea, Coach.
