I'm very impressed with the way they bounced back today after the winning streak ended. That showed what this team is made of. Nobody better than Harvey to take the mound the day after. Take this series and move on to Miami. My poor planning left has me in Kentucky this week to miss that series.

It's all good - 2 good baseball teams is good for NY. The Mets didn't deserve the WS in 2000 - they snuck in, and weren't a great team. Hope your Yanks are in it this year. Murphy snapping out of it. He's their best pure hitter, so a very good sign. I couldn't see him slumping very much longer. BIG hit, another win.

In 2000, my beloved Metropolitans won 94 games and finished one game behind the Braves in the NL East. They beat the Giants in the first round of the playoffs (3-1), who had the best record in baseball that year. Then they beat the Cardinals 4-1 (I was there, Shea was rockin'!). These were the same Cardinals who swept the Braves onto the golf course.
The Yankees won the AL East with 87 wins. If they had been in any other division in baseball, they would have missed the playoffs.

Went to the degrom game the night before and it was real cold with the wind but for the life of me I can't understand why so many people pack the damn caesars club during the game.

Agree about Murphy's hitting, would be perfect as a designated hitter. Don't want to lose him however. Have to give Collins credit in placing him in the fifth spot even though I really felt he was an excellent #2 hitter. His manager told him he would eventually knock in runs batting fifth, right now leading Met's with 17 runs batted in.
On the negative side we have a terrible up the middle defense. One has to go, especially the one with 7 errors ( Flores). Might have to give up one of our top prospects. Can't go down to the wire in September counting on him as our shortstop. Haven't heard anything about Matt Reynolds down on the farm.
