Tough with his frame to put on much weight. Hard worker though!
Love seeing him work on his game. If he puts on weight and takes it to the next level, we can be NCAA bound. Supportive father.

Another key will be cutting down on the fouls. My guess is he makes great strides in that area......usually comes with maturity.

I will say this about Tariq. He went from a maybe he can contribute to someone who is a big factor in games. Seems like a good kid, works hard and his father appears to be involved in a positive way. Let's hope some of our other guys are doing the same.

Not having to cover up for the turnstile like drives to the basket will help also.

If he develops that 15' jumper watch out

Tariq is a natural forward with great speed. One of the hardest workers on the team but our players all seem to have a great work ethic. It's in the area of defense that they lack and hopefully that will improve also.

If he develops that 15' jumper watch out

The bigger issue is to learn to play defense without fouling so much
Tariq would play more minutes if he could avoid committing silly fouls
He has a lot of upside and has been a very pleasant surprise
Nobody could have anticipated him being so good based upon his year at Tennessee
With a lot of hard work, he could be an All Big East performer before his career is done
Very glad that he is at St John's!!

Tariq had been a major positive surprise. Kid works hard, has talent and still has plenty of upside. If he develops a jump shot and some more defensive prowess, he can be really good.

Please stay healthy, Tariq. He is one guy that, if out, could drastically impact our results.

Last year I posted several times I thought people were selling him short. Not a star, but a positive contributor. Now with two seasons under his belt including one in which he saw major minutes, I expect to see more improvement as he gained experience last year and knows what to expect.

I see more positive consistency on both ends of the court in his near future.

Somebody is committed to working his tail off this off season;

from a kid who for me was an afterthought when he committed to us to now one of my favorite players for his hustle.

Really looking forward to watching him continue to develop. Love that work ethic

As Logen posted earlier a lot of his fouls were a result of our guards porous defense. His energetic efforts to help out and block shots results in his frequent foul trouble.

He also picked up some unnecessary fouls when we pressed & he was stationed in the backcourt trapping guards. A few times those reach in calls put him in jeapordy. He may be better served just getting back, leaving press to others. Then again, what do I know.

Actually I had posted that he had improved his short jumper as the season progressed. I expect it will be better after a summer of shooting. As I mentioned many times Louie had Leroy Ellis take hundreds of short shots on our outside basketball courts during the off season.
