Syracuse

Grant declared for the nba draft today, per ESPN. it's starting to look more and more like we have a good shot to win at the carrier dome. We almost took them out at MSG, and now their triple headed monster of Fair, Ennis, and Grant are all gone and being replaced by freshmen who might not yet have a feel for college ball by the time we play them.

Really hoping we pull that off, cause cuse will always be a quality win, and they showed this year they are not as invincible at home as they used to be (losing to BC and Georgia Tech at the dome)

On another note, it just makes it more and more certain Karr won't get drafted. Glen Robinson III of Michigan declared today as well, along with Aaron Gordon of Arizona. That's three forwards right there that will be taken ahead of Karr.

Didnt Jakarr hire an agent? If so, it doesnt matter if he is drafted or not, he cant come back

I know, but I'm just highlighting what everyone already knows, it was an awful decision...

Ennis, Fair, and Grant! Wow. I think they will be worse every year and I'm wrong every year. My hatred for them clouds my judgment. I think this might be the year they finally stink.

If we can't beat them next year at the Dome, we never will.

After this year I'm done getting my hopes up (in terms of us beating them or them taking steps backwards generally). They lose 3 of their 4 best players last year in MCW, Triche, and Southerland, and replace them with a freshman (Ennis) and two sophomores who were back-end rotation as freshmen (Grant/Cooney) and rattle off 25 in a row. Granted, they had one of the best players in the country to anchor (Fair), and Grant/Ennis ended up being exceptional, but to barely skip a beat with a 6 man rotation after the talent they lost, I'm just going to wait until we do something against them and get excited when it happens as opposed to hoping/projecting when it might happen.

Because think about what they must be thinking about our program right now. We aren't even on their radar and for good reason. Game means a lot more to us than them - we are a fly for them to swat away. We need to worry about the 2-7 we tossed up against the top four imminently beatable teams in our own conference and then we can start thinking about winning road games against programs like Syracuse.

Syracuse fans say good bye to Jerami Grant but say welcome aboard to 4* recruit Frank Howard who selected SU over Maryland, Georgetown, Virginia, N.C. State and The Ohio State University.

Howard is a 2015 recruit and ranked by Rivals as the # 58 player in the 2015 recruiting cycle He is the 3d Syracuse recruit that ranked by Rivals among the top 59 recruits in the 2015 recruiting cycle; the others being #21 and #59.

Nice to have that in the bag while we are chasing our 2014 recruiting class.

Doesn't impact our game versus cuse next year. And I'm surprised, it's not a complete Otis post unless you said something like "St John's and Lavin have 0 recruits committed for 2015 at the moment"

And let's not forget, "Along with zero basketball commitments, St. John's academic ranking has fallen. Meanwhile Jay Wright has secured committments from the following four star recruits..."

I was hoping to hear again how many 4 and 5 star recruits we've offered and how many have accepted for 2014.

Right now I am not concerned about beating Syracuse at the dome but who the hell will be on our team. Will Obekpa,Thomas, Mason or some Juco's be part of this team?
