I don't disagree, Sirvoo, as far as the casual fan goes. But don't we have 10-15,000 hardcore fans in the NYC are who make it their business to get to a Dt. John's-Syracuse matchup? We should be as hungry for tickets as the Cuse fans are.
Honestly, if I'm not at that game (no tickets yet), I will be home watching. Life ceases to exist for those 2 1/2 hours anyway.
Why would you claim to be a great fan, yet not make sure that Red shirts are occupying those seats instead of Orange? I understand financial constraints, but this isn't a game to sit at home while Syracuse takes over the building, which I hesitate to call ours until we reclaim it. If you stay at home you can blame yourself for watching an away game as 14,000 Syracuse fans take over MSG.
Beast, I don't have season tickets this year and I've checked online for tickets. While, due to personal reasons it would be a financial hardship, I have every intention to be there. Unless it is completely sold out and I can't get any tix, I intend to be there, I went to just about every home game since mid way into the Norm administration. I've traveled to Uconn, Providence, Rutgers, seton Hall and Georgetown in the past few years. I urge every fan to make any games possible. Tickets versus Cuse are hard to find and expensive but I still plan to be there.
My only point was that having other options in NYC shouldn't be the reason why a true fan doesn't attend a big game like Cuse. I've passed up birthday parties for SJU games. Only a wedding or funeral would be a priority for me (only because I don't want to be judged by those who would notice my non-appearance).
