Dom and Amir have a long way to go offensively. They both threw up some bad looking garbage today. Just ugly stuff. They need to get back to basics.
Those two will always be energy guys who brings it every night on both ends. The thing is we might not be able to count on them to be offensive threats until their junior years. Otherwise, expect junk buckets and an occasional made jumper from the outside. I can see them forcing turnovers once we're able to truly play our game with more sufficient bodies.
I agree, that's what concerns about next year. I don't think you can count on either to be a reliable 3rd option. We need more scoring on the nights Mo and D'Angelo don't have it. I like the signs I'm seeing from Greene. He's shooting it with more confidence and is being more aggressive. Need some more punch next year in addition to the obvious bigs.
I'm sure Dom will improve. He's just got to put the work in. Amir I'm less optim istic about seeing improvement. Lets face it, the only way you really improve is by putting in the work in the summer and getting repitition. Amir isn't even gooing to be around this summer because of baseball, so when exactly is he going to work on his game? He'll come back to campus next fall and probably have the same flaws. Can never ever question his hustle and grit though.
I also like how Greene is coming around. I think he can be counted on as a viable option after Moe and Harrison. We probably can count on Branch, as well. We may be able to count on a couple of kids from the class of 2012 (depending on who we bring in).
If we have 3 or 4 guys we can count on to score then I don't mind Amir being that 5th option on the floor. His weaknesses are more visible now due to our current situation. He's probably also logging more minutes then he would generally see.
