I know they are both freshmen, but I'm amazed at how bad Pointer and Garrett are at shooting the basketball. I mean, they truly provide zero range on the floor. 

 

Their loose handle also compounds it. It's hard for them to create a shot unless it's straight to the basket due to their handle. I love their energy and feel their offensive games will improve. It's evident they are four-year guys.

They do. It usually comes down to them not knowing much about the game itself.

I agree with you that they will get better over time. I'm just shocked that neither of them can knock down a 10 or 15 foot jump shot.

Sadly, this is not unexpected. Against Duke, we were more athletic. Here, we are playing a team that is deeper, more experienced, better shooting and bigger. This one was impossible to win...or frankly, keep close.

It's like when you watch one of the premier women's programs. The bench comes on the floor and still dominates.

You can't assume any team is going to make, what, 9 or 10 three pointers. Cuse is shooting almost as bad from deep.

The big thing in this game -- Melo back means they can go seven-foot, six-nine and six-seven down low. He's altering shots. He's blocking them. Taking charges. And he's automatic offense around the rim. He's the reason they are getting boatloads of second chances.

No one has really talked about him (or, more like believes) going pro next season. They were saying, he's opened the eyes of pro scouts. Most people feel he'll be back next season. Many feel that he'll probably exit after his sophomore season.
